After a long day out at sea, Martinou’s Anemone sways smoothly with the sea current, interjected by small skanks shining through like rays of light at sunset. However, don’t be fooled - its deep layers will slowly take over and entrance you.

We are delighted to announce the first vinyl and digital release of our label: Lost in Translation! Out on December 6th, Anthroposcene’s atmospheres were written and composed across studios in Georgia, the Czech Republic, Canada, the Netherlands, the United States, and Belgium – our home.

Anthroposcene was built track by track, providing a space for each artist to draw inspiration from the last, and continue the story of the release in their own musical voice. The result is a sonic tapestry reflecting the talents and styles of the hand-picked selection of artists we were lucky to have join us on this project. The release will be accompanied by a full-length short story inspired by the music and artwork.

The line-up includes people we have long looked up to, and it is a cool moment for us to announce @saphileaum, @fred-czital, @humanspacemachine, @martinou3000, @owlfromdeepspace, Moon Patrol (@gilleswasserman & @irina-kotik) and @orcasilent as Lost in Translation’s first contributing artists.

We are delighted to have this talented Spanish producer on our platform: @javiermarimon. Well known for multiple releases on @oslated, @secuencias_temporales, or more recently on @huinalidub, he has also launched his first label @offtvisuals and released several EPs with JFR project (with @romi808 and @f-ondj).
The music from Javier Marimon is a blend of ambient, minimalistic textures and  dub patterns, with a strong attachment to focus on each detail, creating ethereal textures and complete immersion. We had the chance to hear his 3h-long live performance during La Vallée Electrique 2022 organised by @melifera_records and we felt completely suspended to this intense moment.
For this episode, he prepared a live jam full of new materials and inspiration from where he lives now, in Thaïland. His contribution is named “low tide estuary” as it was recorded just where the river and the sea cohabit near to his house. 

"This recording is a live jam over the projects and ideas that i went through this last Tiger year and the deep exploration of a new synthesizer at home. 
It's an abstract summary with the sounds i made but compiled and performed on other side of the world, with the necessary perspective and inputs I missed so much. 
Now, heavily into the lunar new year and with the intense angle that distance and limited setup gives you I'm happy to have wrapped up everything with this collection of new tracks influenced and inspired by the low tides in the estuary of Ribadeo, the end of the river that feeds our home and runs down there, entering on the sea, but rearranged and morphed because of the big city roaring around us again.

An estuary is the zone where freshwater mixes with marine water, forming at the mouth of a river when it flows into the sea. Subject to the influence of the river on the one hand and the tide on the other, estuaries have very variable morphological and hydrological characteristics depending on the dominance of one or the other of these natural forcings.

Estuaries are the only ecosystem where the altimetric change in the twice-daily water line varies in time and space, along with salinity and turbidity. Marine species, freshwater species, and species endemic to estuaries are found here. When pollution and overfishing do not overexploit it, the biomass produced is exceptionally high, especially in temperate zones (in Europe in particular). 
Estuaries are also considered as environmentally naturally stressed areas. Indeed, they have a high degree of variability in their physico-chemical composition. Still, their biota is naturally conceived to deal with that stress : this ability to absorb stress without secondary effect is named and categorized as Environmental Homeostasis.

What’s more satisfying than seeing someone close grow as an artist? Little that we can think of, the musical story is different for us all, with many twists and turns, ups and downs, but turn, the pages must. Over the years we’ve seen one of our founders, Irina Kotik grow and grow, building on her musical identity and creating new avenues of musical expression. As one half of Moon Patrol through to her mixes released on HOC radio, MFIS, Crescent London, and Cellar Door to name a few, her impact is steadily growing. It’s with so much pride that we’re happy to premiere her first solo offering on Melifera Records, Mira.

Like a structure being built block by block, Mira starts off simply with percussive elements and haunting pads, laying the foundation for a soaring crescendo as the track builds and builds. The melody echoed and solidified throughout, giving that all encompassing melancholic feel that we know and love.

Mira, is part of a series of releases titled Women Everyday, a passionate celebration of women's talent, everyday. Volume 2 will be out on March 8th, with additional music from Elisa Batti, Slow Dimension, Vice City, and Kato De Vidts.

Smoke filled rooms with lights aglow, tension and excitement filling the air as the night ahead is looming with promises of incredible moments. These types of moments play out all over the world time and time again and each time, they’re exhilarating. No stranger to Delayed, as her expertise is wide ranging, from label founder, to DJ, to agency head and producer, it seems Laura BCR can and does everything incredibly well. Her production skills however are the ones that we’d like to highlight today as her newest release, ‘Human Behavior’ is forthcoming on storied, Live at Robert Johnson.

The four track EP is full to the brim with the aforementioned tension as Laura launches off strongly with a drum heavy A1, Farewell. The percussion twisting and curling around swelling pads like alarms in the distance. Continuing the theme of the release, Post Dynamic gives space as the growls and synths stretch mightily over the entirety of the track, propped up by the same steady percussion and bubbly accents. The title track Human Behavior, a collaboration with Columbian based Launaea, contains all of the delightful tribal accents and has an energy about it that is propelling you onwards, farther into the deep.

To round out the EP, we arrive at our premiere for today, ‘Long Wait’. Syncopated percussion and ear-worm like synths are surrounded in an embrace by soft pads for the duration. Like a nice come down from the highs of before.

Long Wait, and in turn Human Behavior will be out on Live at Robert Johnson, the 28th of April.

To prepare for "That Who Remembers", Swedish producers Dorisburg (aka Alexander Berg @alexanderberg) and Sebastian Mullaert @sebastianmullaert set up their equipment in Malmö's empty Inkonst venue, spending several days immersed in its atmosphere, using the lights, smoke machine and soundsystem to create an authentic club environment where they could freely improvise. The result is a suite of free-flowing sounds that draws on both artists' backgrounds in reduced techno and ambient music, sailing thoughtfully through near-future landscapes and punctuating them with shimmering, kosmische textures, decaying sonic memories and fragile rhythms. Not dance music exactly, it's music that instead considers the spirit of an empty dancefloor, wondering which elements might remain when feet have left the building entirely. It's hardly surprising that the record is coming via Donato Dozzy and Neel's adventurous Spazio Disponibile imprint. "We recorded at full club volume with massive bass, but our references had gradually shifted to the point where just adding a soft kick drum would feel like peak time techno. So even though the final recordings are quite soft and ambient, the energy we felt during the recording was often quite intense.”
