The machines had been turned off. It had been many years since anyone had ventured into the old warehouse, there was only some slim hope that it might still even work. Once upon a time this place had been a paradise, a kingdom and a place in which revellers came to let loose and be free.

This was back in the old days, back when the dance was all innocent and little did we know about what might lurk around the corner. The bans, the trouble, the crime, the chaos.

Yet after all this time, the machinery was still here. The speakers, the towers, the noise. He wondered for a moment, dreamt even, whether they might still have the unction to function.

DJ ojo is back with another release, following on from the well received outing on Blank Mind, things get deep and introspective on a new EP which features odd electronics and dusty, moody sounds.

The two part series COSMOGROVE compiles remix treatments of selected tracks from Varuna’s Cosmogram & Mangrove Management releases.

Pt. 1 features four reconstructed cosmograms by the hands (and minds) ((and souls)) of AWC favs & friends: Agonis and Jan Loup wander the lush gardens of Singapore’s variously de & re-naturalized (sic!) air travel hub; Hems revisits an outgrowth of contemporary petroculture and takes a trip to the remnants of Abu Dhabi’s would be post-oil model city; and Konduku goes vertical to prune Milan’s abundant concrete forest.

While the world relapses into petro-desires and indulges in fossil fuel bingeing :(((((((((, AWC remains committed to diagramming post-natural feedback loops. Stay tuned.

Varuna - Jewel Changi (Jan Loup Remix) - Snippet

https://soundcloud.com/tammohesselink Tammo Hesselink debuts on Berlin's Midgar with "Work Work Work", showcasing 5 techno cuts in his distinct stripped-down style. He expertly links the dots within mesmerizing drum grooves, tied together by subtle imperfections. Wonky rhythms layered with loads of sub and razor sharp twitches could be seen as a blueprint for Hesselink's productions. Excellent percussive club tools for playful DJ sets, where tools as we know them could be flat and loopy, in these jams there's a whole lot more to explore.

« Founded almost four years ago, Le Motel’s Maloca Records has excelled in world-building as it tirelessly brings together some of the best and most innovative artists from different pockets of the club community around the world. This is showcased most notably through the compilation series which returns for its second volume on the 8th December as it combines both established and breakthrough artists.

Across 17 tracks, Maloca, Vol. 2 features both label family and exciting debuts with the likes of Farsight, Griffit Vigo, and DJ JM returning to the imprint. The rest of the compilation sees knockout contributions from the likes of Bambounou, Flore, Konduku, Tristan Arp, NVST, De Grandi, Neida, Cheb Runner, Malo2k, Leese, Ultima Esuna & Destrata, Mika Oki, M I M I and Space Drum Meditation. Whilst these artists may be from different cities across the pond, they all have something in common - they are leading the way for the next wave of club music. Whether that’s the riotous sounds of NVST, Griffit Vigo’s ever- evolving landscape of gqom, Tristan Arp’s signature insect-inspired soundscape, the emerging Brussels-based artists M I M I and Mika Oki or the trippy, introspective melodies of Konduku and Space Drum Meditation. Maloca, Vol. 2, captures a mind-melting moment in time.

The artwork is by Brussels-based painter Anastasia Bay who’s work presents a renewed vision of the human figure. Oscillating between abstraction and figuration, Anastasia Bay’s work is all about contrast and balance. The choice of a precise fragment of reality in her works dissolves any narration. »

This nine-track odyssey finds its home on Shaw Cuts, Munich's record label, celebrated for its adventurous explorations in polyrhythmic electronic music.

Linderberg Support's triumphant return, following his acclaimed Sentiment Series Vol. 6 and Ode To Gallantry EP, takes us on a journey through the dark depths of electronic music. From cerebral experimentalism to hushed, atmospheric whispers and bass-heavy grooves to intricate rhythmic weaves, Sentiment Series Vol. 10 unfurls its secrets with each spin.

Today, we unveil "Tell Em," a track thrumming with the raw energy of the dance floor. Imagine a twilight-kissed club, awash in the diffused glow of stained glass. An infectious polyrhythm drives the track, perfectly entwined with ethereal pads and delicate piano stabs that shimmer in the background.

"Tell Em" and the rest of the Sentiment Series Vol. 10 arrive via Shaw Cuts on January 12, 2024.
