Premiere: Javier Marimon - Flying Buttresses

Obscure shapes rise in the distance, a haze of smoke obscures all. Movements seem slow and time is but a figment of the imagination. The focus turns inward as a sense of calmness encompasses, letting the mind relax. Overhead the sky is black, but filled with stars, with brief flashes of light as celestial bodies march across the heavenly vista.

This mental imagery springs to mind when listening through Pierre Nesi aka Owl’s forthcoming LP, titled, ‘Fragments of Darkness’ on the storied Korean imprint, Huinali Recordings. A wonderful pairing, and an instant listen whenever either name pops up. Fragments of Darkness will be Owl’s second release, following 2022’s ‘Forest Shadow’. Coincidentally not, another must listen if you’ve not heard already.

Lanterns Illuminate The Infinite Space comes as the final, 7th track to the musical odyssey that Owl has crafted. Beautiful, soft pads lead off and establish a warm atmospheric vibe. The light to the darker moments in the release, the counter that Pierre is so adept at crafting. Ebbing and flowing, the track expands and soon a prominent melody emerges, accented by flashes of synths that give structure and development. 

Fragments of Darkness will be released on May 12th, off of Huinali Recordings, on all platforms.

In what feels like yet another full circle moment for us all at Delayed, and another chapter in a story started a few years ago via this Korean connection; we’re happy to present our latest premiere from one of our own, Griff aka Aspetuck and his track, ‘Sunny Conditions Will Continue For The Rest Of The Day’ off his forthcoming album, ‘Today is Tomorrow’. Marking the 38th release on the storied Oslated imprint, Griff’s signature warm, analog sound shines bright as he crafts an emotional journey through a diverse set of 10 tracks.

The aptly named ‘Sunny Conditions Will Continue For The Rest Of The Day’ starts off simply with a sighing melody and textured sounds giving structure that soon give way to an infectious kick and drum pattern. Almost immediately the groove sets in and never leaves, complemented by an undulating element that gives a sense of playfulness to the track overlaid with a soaring set of melodies.

Sunny Conditions, and in turn the rest of ‘Today Is Tomorrow’ will be released on the 30th of June via Oslated.

PREMIERE: Aspetuck - Sunny Conditions Will Continue For The Rest Of The Day [Oslated]

Sometimes music becomes a place. For Caldera, that place was Jevvers, a music studio hidden in a Brighton grove, where leaves rustled against the glass and machines glowed in the dim light.

For nearly a decade, Jevvers was a refuge, a test lab, a temple. Now, Caldera is closing the door on that chapter. His new EP, Last Transmissions From Jevvers, out soon on Polish label DANS, is both a love letter and a farewell. Five tracks, recorded between 2018 and 2024, soaked in the hush and warmth of his private world. You can almost smell the damp earth and hear the rain outside the window. Caldera’s never been one for sticking to rules. His music slips between styles - dub techno, broken beats, and ambient textures, all filtered through his own quiet intensity. On Last Transmissions From Jevvers, that chameleon quality shines.

Today, we are happy to shine the light on “Rhymo.” Here, Caldera joins forces with queniv, one of the core members of Amsterdam’s De Lichting collective, and definitely not a stranger to Delayed. The two built “Rhymo” under pandemic skies, trading stems and sketches over the internet while the world held its breath. No shared studio sessions, no late-night takeout runs, just distant screens and a shared instinct for sound.
The result is a track that feels alive and weightless. “Rhymo” rides a supple, broken groove, punctuated by crisp percussion that flickers like sunlight on water. Pads swell and recede, carrying warmth and subtle melancholy. Melodic threads drift in and out, leaving space to breathe. It’s music for private moments and sunrise dance floors alike, introspective yet gently propulsive.
