We’re kicking off the new year with the debut self-release from Melbourne-based artist Fefe, whose seven-track mini-LP, Sketches from Memories, drops in just a few days. This release is a reflection of Fefe’s creative journey over the past five years, capturing the evolution of his sound through a thoughtful collection of tracks.
Our premiere today, Ghost Gum, is an evocative piece that blends gentle, textured percussion with earthy synth tones and a haunting saxophone melody. The track conjures the imagery of a ritualistic dance deep within a forest, brimming with otherworldly energy.
Sketches from Memories will be available on Bandcamp starting January 15th.

PREMIERE: Fefe - Ghost Gum

Spiraling melodies and half time tempos spring to the forefront for our premiere today, titled Ravina. Portuguese artists Floating Machine and Inerte have combined talents for a contribution to the Berlin and Lisbon based event series and label, Art Bei Ton. The fifth edition of their VA series, ‘Seeing Cursed Spirits’ will soon be released that showcases a variety of sounds. All nestled within the folds of deep and hypnotic techno.

Ravina evolves, slowly but surely. Each pulse of the percussion brings new life and energy into the air. A soft pad floats in the background, ethereal and ever-shifting, creating a sense of vast space that’s peppered with bright auditory textures giving movement and spontaneity as they jump around the listener. Gradually, voices become more pronounced, their distant melodies forming a loop that seems to repeat and evolve in subtle variations, like a mantra or chant. The panning continues to play with perception, shifting focus gently from one side to the other until the ending moments as each element slowly falls away.

Art Bei Ton’s latest VA will be released on the 16th of January and includes offerings from a diverse set of artists including Viels, PEIX, and Nao Nhil.

PREMIERE: Floating Machine & Inerte - Ravina [Art Bei Ton]

The third release on Lola Haro’s Small Steps label from Belgium sees German producer DJ Balduin step up with a contribution that embodies the label's sound. Known for his intricate, warm house basslines, clever loops, and breaks, DJ Balduin delivers a three-track EP, Everything, capturing the fleeting magic when light meets dark. Out on Valentine’s Day, 14th February, the release includes the track Somar and will be available in digital and vinyl formats via Bandcamp.

The EP is all about mood and movement. In Somar, DJ Balduin plays with a mixture of rising and melancholic pads, including distant bird chatter and playful loops. A punchy beginning, the tracks mellow into moments of bliss, offering warmth throughout. The interplay of light and dark is palpable and emotive, evoking euphoria reminiscent of sunrise sets at festivals—those moments that shift the tempo and prepare us for another day of dancing.

Small Steps and DJ Balduin captures these intangible moments with its sound: the eye contact on the dancefloor, subtle smiles, and the pull of the kick drum as we sway.

PREMIERE: DJ Balduin - Somar [Small Steps]

Through overwhelming days and times of strife, an emphasis to look inwards and reflect seems appropriate. Outside stressors abound, almost at every turn it seems as the world claws at your mental stability. Italian producer, dj and more, Simone Gatto’s forthcoming Invisible Love album on his own Pregnant Void imprint marks a response to these negative forces. Giving space, soft moments of introspection and smooth melodies that all lend well to its healing nature.

Like a deep breath, The Secret of Quantum Life slowly begins. In and out, in and out. The meditative nature can’t be ignored, Simone’s background influences coming through in spades as warm tones envelop the listener, accentuated by generative warbles providing movement and spontaneity. As the track progresses, varying swirls and melodic eddies appear, like changes in the wind.

Gatto’s Invisible Love album will be released on the 7th of February.

PREMIERE: Simone Gatto - The Secret Of Quantum Life [Pregnant Void]

Time flies—what started as a platform to spotlight music we love has reached an incredible milestone: our 500th premiere. Over the years, we've witnessed trends emerge, evolve, and transform into something entirely new. Within these 500 premieres, we've featured a kaleidoscope of styles and genres, but at the heart of it all, the music has always been deep, introspective, and original—an authentic reflection of the artists who create it.
We're thrilled to present Ojalá by Dutch artist Love Over Entropy for this special occasion. Taken from the long-awaited album "To Sit Quietly Where Everything Is Moving Fast," set to be released via Something Happening Somewhere, this track radiates optimism and quiet determination—qualities that feel perfectly encapsulated in its title.
Ojalá unfolds with gentle confidence, its uplifting keys and delicate arpeggiator lines moving together like a conversation that flows without effort. How does a sexist society work? -  as usual, as it always happens in sects and totalitarian states. The pyramidal structure, on top of which there is a more or less charismatic sociopath, directly “under” it is a narrow layer close to the Master, enjoying nothing and no one (except the Master) unlimited power over the “base” of the pyramid: that is, over the bulk that makes up the group monopolist. This is kind of "Cascading of subordination" and is reflected in group and individual psychism as fear and hatred. Also, in the ideology of sexism, sexual characteristics have a decisive influence on the abilities, intelligence, morality, behavioral characteristics and character traits of an individual human personality; this ideology also includes ideas about the initial division of people into a higher (men) and lower (women) group, of which the first are the subjects and creators of civilization and culture and are called to dominate the latter. This kind of society fated to be racist, sexist and intolerant. This kind of society is fated to hate, envy and fear. We don't want to live in this kind of society.
"Women's Answer To Men's Failure" it's a story about jewish and muslim in mourning women in Palestine/Israel unstoppable fighting together for peace and against men stupidity/violence provided by the Lebanese born, Toulouse based artist Arabian Panther at his new 4 Tracks EP "Heart Filled With Sand" EP via Lyon's Blue Night Jungle imprint.
Beefy track a quirky twisted melody into a straight up peak time stomper which shakes the ear drums, keeping a flava of vocals from a documentary called "Les Guerrières de la paix" and a bassline which rivals the theme from Jaws in terms of creating tension the orient synthlines come and cuts like a chainsaw through hot butter. PREMIERE #665 | Arabian Panther - Women's Answer To Men's Failure [Blue Night Jungle] 2019

Cosmic Monkey its Latvian DJ/Producer who under his another moniker NEI , shares proper Techno/Electro beats since 1998' and he is next up on Seven Sisters Records, a label focusing on showcasing the best of Latvian underground music.
With this ebullient "Funk You Up" EP he brings the combination of a few styles with radical effect. Nothing is standard about its sound from the heavy broken beats to the thick and complex production.
Darker than the darkness and with menacing undertones, Cosmic Monkey delivers this thumping "Got Your Back" mix which would work well even on the hells dancefloor bringing break beat drums, toms and flange ridden hi hats to the fore before breaking down into an ridden synth groove which brings the fire to the dancefloor. Powering out across the open highways, House Of Disco stick it in 5th gear for their 23rd outing that see’s the return of the mighty Fouk. Four funked up, disco house jams that are drenched in undeniable grooves, ‘80s synth gold and tight percussive touches. 
The A side houses ‘Release The Kraken’ with it's pitch bent synthwork, juicy basslines and emphatic vocal touches from Thumpasaurus. Next up the signature Fouk sound is bottled up on ‘Night Shift’, marrying sweltering synths with hazy Rhodes, beefy bass and infectious drums.

PREMIERE : Fouk - Arrakis

There should be a new name for Norwegian balearica as they are hitting the sweet spot every time. This EP is no exception, with its retro analogue sounds touching on Ibiza, Italo, soundtrack and all the good stuff.

The Telemark Express is a collaboration between Norway's Kjetil Lagesen aka Kellini, an up and coming disco producer and familiar name on the Nordic scene, Jarle Bråthen. Periodically they both have 'writer's block' but when they hit the studio together, these obstacles fade away and the magic emerges.

Epic Proportions starts things off at a pace with its bubbling arpeggiator, congas and 4/4 beat that build, before the epic synths takes things to space disco heaven.

Inflatable Ego goes full balearic with its reggae lilt, stringless flanged bass and selection of analogue synths. Close your eyes and it could be 1986 in Amnesia as Alfredo drops that dubbed out Demis Roussos B-side everyone's been banging on about.

The title track goes deep with a nagging synth and swells that lay underneath Vangelis like synths as they pick out their melody.

Bright Future keeps the squelchy bass with uplifting chords to send the sun down in to the Med as you move on to your third Long Island Ice Tea.

'Jealous Lover’ is a wigged out, tribal space dance slow burner, which has been supported by heavyweights like Roman Flügel. Immaculately executed percussions are the prominent part of the track, which allows the track to sound nice and gentle when played on 105 BPM and driving and vigorous when played on 120BPM . DJs love this type of tracks.
