ABSIS is Salva Coromina, a regular dj on the Barcelona scene since the late 90's under the alias mouseDown/MouseUp, he was resident dj at The Loft (Razzmatazz) and a regular at Sonar for many years, he has always been exploring the deeper side of electronic music moving from ambient to techno. 

Currently ABSIS runs his monthly residency at Laut club in Barcelona under the name of Midline, where he has invited dj's like Vand, Daniel(i), Unjin, Doctrina Natura, Mod1, John Plaza, Guillam, Fon.... He is also a resident of the MOSTRA festival in Barcelona and his productions are released on labels such as hivern discs and Oslated among others.

"Digging is the DJ’s lower part of the iceberg yet one of my favourite activities. I can spend hours going from one release to another, but when “With Eyes Closed” came to my attention, I stopped the process to only focus on it. I listened to it track by track, in full until the end.

My mind instantly resonates with these sounds. There are held by a mysterious atmosphere and a certain melancholy that deeply touches me. There was drama in the first few tracks while tenderness emerged in the following ones.

In the EP, the maturity of the author can be sensed through the sophistication of the work.

The various pieces, deep and mesmerising, somehow musically wake up the fascination that I have for the greatness of nature’s creation, the indivisibility and limitlessness of the universe; I enjoyed very much the artistic connection."

"Like opening a door to the unknown or an invitation to a very familiar and intimate place. Crossing that door or inhabiting that place, we make ourselves comfortable, keep silence and listen to a record. This is With Eyes Closed by ABSIS, an invitation to recollection and silence with the sole objective of surrendering ourselves to the pleasure of music and electronic synthesis.

In this release, Absis displays a somewhat obsessive and compulsive mastery of machines. Pure and hard synthesis in search of the perfect sound or at least the sound that the artist is imagining. There are seven tracks that at the beginning call us to contemplation and introspection and that evolves into a collective call to share a dance floor; in short, it is a complete, circular and fantastic album, in the strictest and most literal sense of the word.

In With Eyes Closed each sound occupies its right and proper place, respecting each of its frequencies, its brilliance and intentions. In it, nothing exists just for the sake of it, on the contrary, each element has a function and a role to play within a fantasy: pure and hard synthesis of a remarkable cleanliness and lucidity.

Crossing that door or inhabiting that place it is inevitable to close our eyes, it is a natural and instinctive reflex, as if we wanted to turn off the other senses and surrender ourselves to the ear. Closing our eyes, the music enters through our skin and becomes part of us."

In this EP composed entirely by women, each track has an evocative female name. Their work takes us on a sonic odyssey through the ages and cultures. Like an invitation to journey into the mind, we travel introspectively to mystical and distant lands. Each track creates a musical expression that is both

Here we are with our sixth exhibition! The talented French producer Adhémar and the super hypnotic Italian duo Primal Code will star in it. All of this will be framed by an incredible painting by Vincent van Gogh. The Starry Night is a painting by the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh, made in 1889 and kept in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. A true icon of Western painting, the painting depicts a nocturnal landscape of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, just before sunrise. You will find more information about the painting on our social pages.

Concept:
I awaken in a world I do not recognize. The skies are murky, and the air is heavy with an otherworldly scent. My body is numb, and I am unsure if I am alive or dead. The only thing that I am certain of is that my ego is dead.

As I wander through the streets, I see others like me, lost and confused. We move through the shadows, never daring to step into the light. In this new world, our egos have become our enemies, and we must learn to let them go.

I come across a symbol etched into the concrete. It is a circle, with a line running through the middle. I recognize it as the symbol of the ego death, a symbol of rebirth and renewal.

I realize that in order to survive in this new world, I must let go of my ego. I must accept that I am no longer the person I once was, and that I must shed my old skin to become something new.

I close my eyes, and I feel a weight lifting off my shoulders. The weight of my ego is gone, and in its place, I feel a sense of peace and clarity. I am no longer tied down by my past or my fears. I am free to create a new reality for myself.

As I move through the world, I see others shedding their egos as well. We are all becoming something new, something greater than we ever thought possible.

The skies begin to clear, and the air becomes fresh and pure. The world is reborn, and we are reborn with it. We are no longer trapped by our egos, but free to create a new reality for ourselves.

In this new world, there is no room for egos. Only those who are willing to let go of their old selves can thrive. And so, we move forward, into a bright new future, free from the chains of our egos.

This wonderful collection of tracks is really unique as all pieces are based on one concept which is completely sound design oriented. The idea behind this release series is to have one material or substance which will then be interpreted by the artists. For this very first compilation we chose the material Wood. In the end the artists will also reveal some specific techniques which they used for the production of each track to transform this project also into a skill sharing platform for followers to learn from and get inspired. Cauê, who has been releasing on labels such as Affin, Circular Limited, KVLTO and Khoros, has developed a distinctive sound in recent years, with a wide range of timbres and textures that ultimately reflect feelings, moments or states of mind he experiences during the production process.
After a few months, his return to Australian label Aythekos is no different.

The four-track ep Palms of Solitude brings with it a deeper dub aesthetic, presenting the listener with a metaphorical representation of the feeling of loneliness and isolation. It's the feeling of being alone in a crowded space or feeling disconnected from others and the world around us.

They represent a deep sense of emptiness that, despite its challenges, can also be an opportunity for growth and self-reflection.

“Evocation” by The Alchemical Theory exudes a mystical, hermetic essence, calling up the underworld. It immediately ensnares with its abrupt entrance, akin to a door swinging open, leading us into a realm of gradually unfolding atmospheres and building tensions. Crafted by three talented Italian producers that came together as this project in 2018, this meticulously layered composition unravels at an almost sluggish pace, revealing an ever-increasing array of murky and morphy elements. It possesses a hermetic quality, mysteriously interweaving its components to create a cohesive entity,  an entity you should not withdraw from. The specialty of this track is, that it doesnt play with opposites and space, but plays with the almost subperceptible sound - the closer you examine it, the longer you gaze into what’s behind that door, the more dimensions open and the abyss stares right back at you. Strong.
This track is featured on the EP of the same name, released by Hypnotic Motion, the Barcelona-based label renowned for its deep techno offerings. Amongst the 4 tracks of this very well curated EP, it stands as the deepest, shadowy and complex one - and that makes it profound. The Alchemical Theory has earned a reputation for their mind-enganging sounds, and this particular piece serves as a necessary yet demanding expedition into the depths. It acts as a beckoning call, initiating the commencement of a transformative exploration.
