For their inaugural release, London-based Vysyon presents Mercuri: an enchanting EP of enigmatic techno featuring work by Swiss artists Varuna & Mateo Hurtado.

Having developed their brand of abyssal club music through releases on Amenthia Recordings & their own imprint A Walking Contradiction, Varuna dive into the void on ‘Remote Pulsar’. Driven by a disorientating polyrhythm cloaked in opaque atmospherics, the trio’s otherworldly approach to sound design is on full display. By contrast, the pounding 4/4 kick & propulsive acid bass of ‘Uvez Echos’ entrance the listener into a state of dancefloor reverie.

Mateo Hurtado casts his own unique magic over the flip, showcasing his archetypal mystic sound established via an album on Annulled music & remixes for Space Drum Meditation. The mesmerising flute melody of ‘An Invisible Fire, Working In Secret’ casts a spell of hypnosis, while the flowing, amorphous pads & twisted bass of ‘The Eternal Mirror’ conjure visions of worlds unknown.

Eight years deep into their voyage through the outer margins of sound, Cosmic Wave Records reemerge from the ether with ‘In Echoes Of Fractured Light’, a brooding and luminescent EP from Paris-based sound-sculptor Anechoic...For the premiere, we dive into Marco Shuttle’s reimagining of ‘Offcuts’ - a vertiginous trance-techno elevation that stretches time into liquid. Shuttle peels back the skin of the original and reveals a stroboscopic skeleton: submerged bass pulses, neon-lit pads evaporating into the void and machine rhythms spun tight like quantum clockwork. It’s trance not as genre, but as state. Bells echo in distant gravity wells, flickering like lighthouses of a civilisation long submerged. Somewhere between a lost orbital rave and a ritual in the ruins of deep space, where collective euphoria and solitary drift are two sides of the same cosmic coin.

Sub Accent - High Speed Train in Fog

For this release, a selection of instrumental tracks has been chosen, ranging from experiments created years ago to some created more recently. The common thread between them is the compositional everchanging smoothness, erotic rhythms, the comfort of etheric synthesizers, and dubbed out live instruments. These tracks selected highlight the deepest, most hypnotic, and mystical dance rituals that Ranga offers us.

The album's title, Past Life, refers to the feelings and ideas that were circulating when the tracks were created, but also to how it feels to look back at old music and the old selves who created it. There is an unsettling but tempting feeling about the future for the artist. The tracks selected for this release are those that he always listened to without really knowing where they came from or where they were going, as he is still surprised to this day that he created them. They do not resemble Ranga's previous music, but rather, for him, they are music of the future.

AF Premiere_ Ranga - Trance [Secuencias Temporales][OUT!!]

Berlin’s Hyphen collective has wasted no time carving out its place in the techno underground. Less than a year in and already on their fifth release, the label continues to thrive on collaboration and open-ended experimentation rather than fixed formulas. Before the Shift EP brings together Hyphen’s own vauna with two fast-rising Italian artists: TOMO, co-founder of Florence’s DE RIO, and Milan-based Peppe Amore (NR, Planet Rhythm). This is a five-track release that embraces intensity without tipping into excess, channeling a strain of contemporary techno that feels both relentless and precise, designed to hit hard while still leaving room for nuance.

"Return to Form" builds on a foundation of massive kicks and tribal percussion that slowly liquefy into something more fluid, threaded with spiraling synth lines and ghostly vocal fragments. The result feels both primal and precise. It's like a transmission from a futuristic jungle made for sweat-drenched hours in the middle of the night, and another reminder that Hyphen knows how to keep its trajectory sharp.
