Timnah signature approach to earthy dance music has been tried, tested and approved by swinging hips all over Europe. Developing her style from age 17 onwards, when she started playing in squats and industrial spaces around Basel, she’s continuously making her mark with warm, reverberating techno cuts from across the spectrum. During her residencies at Hinterhof Bar and Elysia, Timnah‘s sets fluently cover (and transcend) shades of techno, experimental and ambient music, establishing her as a firm favourite amongst dancers and peers. Smooth mixing skills, strong emotional narratives and an intuitive understanding of dancefloor dynamics continue to define her style, seamlessly cruising through the small hours of the night.

For the third installment of our podcast series, we welcome Australian-born Berlin-based dj, producer, and soundscape artist Sa Pa. With a name referencing northern Vietnam's high, foggy mountains, expect a live recorded podcast from our May party that resembles the northern parts of Vietnam: Hazy, clear and unclear, mystic, and at times pushing forward, finding directions, this podcast feels like a (musical) journey of ambient soundscapes, dub, and pitched down that leaves one to reach the higher spheres (of Vietnam).

So excited to welcome BLNDR to the series, a long-awaited delight after observing the French producer develop his magnetic and kaleidoscopic sound over the years. BLNDR's mix is glimmering and atmospheric, reflective of the patient and meticulous nature inhabiting his work as both BLNDR and his more-recent Traevor alias. Voiced in a heartfelt tone and assembled with a poet's touch, this set is a soft yet spry landing to an intense season, breathing a new air, fluttering to a new rhythm, earnest to the very end. For the fourth installment of our mix series, we are pleased to present a live recording of Sunju Hargun's set at a recent edition in Tokyo. As an artist, Sunju is well known for his output through his Siamese Twin records, which he co-runs and effectively put Southeast Asia (back) on the global musical map. Noted as a skilled DJ and producer who floats between new interpretations of classic trance, deep techno, local traditional music, and re-imagining Goa music, he is equally apt at exploring ambient. In this recording, he shares his takes on contemporary ambient music, leaning on his productions, traditional music from his home region, and more modern ambient and experimental explorations. Expect a journey across musical heritages and genres, delivering a mix that presents a unique fusion of diverse geographical music styles, rhythms, and historic tunes.

Our latest Podcast chapter comes in the form of a mesmerising all-vinyl set by the Spanish duo Binomi, interweaving experimental, psychedelic and avant-garde ambient music from across the decades with personal field recordings. Recorded live at the Hangar in Barcelona as part of the 2023 edition of Mostra, it is a dreamy two-hour sound adventure sprinkled thorough with the dusty film of gentle record crackles and pensive undertone. 

"How to translate a friendship of more than 10 years into a mix? After a long coexistence, the pandemic represents a hiatus in our musical relationship. Mostra23 is the perfect excuse and the best stage to resume it. A new sound has emerged in us, complicity, laughter, and goosebumps confirm it. The set configured with 3 turntables and accompanied by field recordings made in Australia and Tasmania form a soundtrack of shared sensations across the distance. Through genres, we define our experiences; new age, drone, experimental or avant-garde music, minimalism, and psychedelia can be its labels. Who knows, we just hope it transports you to places as distant or as close as those it evokes for us. It has been a real pleasure."

Binomi are Jordi Aparicio and Joan Gila, both from Tarragona, Spain. Avid collectors of records, their search for sound brought them together in Barcelona more than a decade ago.

this warm sunday morning brings us a rather special offering, a hybrid set supplied by berlin based producer, and dj - sarah wreath who stretched her ambient muscles at fellow delayed favorite kato de vidts’ ambient tide series. here is what she had to say about the set:

this recording captures my hybrid performance at ambient tide in brussels—an event meticulously crafted by kato de vidts to deliver a profound journey of deep listening within an immersive environment.

centered around the chao gong as the primary instrument, the performance featured layered organic soundscapes enhanced by effects processing. this resulted in a hybrid set comprising compositions ranging from ambient to experimental, incorporating elements of icaros and ritual hymns.

the fundamental tone of the chao gong, 110 hertz, known as the fundamental pitch of om chanting, has been shown to aid in emotional processing and relaxation, exerting a profound effect on the right hemisphere of the brain. this hemisphere is recognized as the locus of artistic expression, spirituality, emotion, imaginative thinking, and breakthrough innovation.
