Clear as spring water, the memory of Shoal's beautiful live set echoing through the Norwegian mountains, finally sharing the stage together at Monument (@monument-podcast) after meeting in Amsterdam several years ago. Those familiar with our dear friends at Harmony Rec (@harmony-rec) will be undoubtedly familiar with Kenny's impeccable body of work, and for the rest an eye-opening treat awaits. Here, Kenny gathers highlights from his recent live sets and newly recorded material, arranged and refined into a perfect contemplation of the crisp arboreal air, a vivid composition of body and sound entwined tightly beneath the earth. Thank you to all who made this evening happen, those who came, listened attentively, shut their eyes and let the music fill the room on an amazing system that Saturday evening. It really was a special, memorable moment for me.  

The set includes lots of unreleased/forthcoming ASIP music, alongside releases from Quiet Places, Max Würden and Merrin Karras, plus some of my fave moments from Field Lines Cartographer, Echospace, qebrµs, Sindh, Jo Johnson, Acronym, Endurance and Wndfrm.

ASIP @ Liminal Dreams, Tokyo

Chris SSG is best known as the co-founder of the now defunct MNML SSGS blog, recognized as a leading source of critical insight on electronic music. Following the end of the blog, he has devoted his energies to DJing and organising parties, and in the process has become an integral part of Japan’s electronic music community. As a DJ, Chris SSG has taken a less common approach, focusing primarily on ambient and experimental music. He has developeda distinctive approachto ambient that has a similar structure and dynamicto a techno set, only aimed for the headand heart. Chris SSG has played widelyin Tokyo, and has ventured further afield, with shows in Taipei, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, as well as at Berghain’s Elektroakustischer Salon, Concrete Paris and The Bunker New York, andmajor festivals including Berlin Atonal, Nachtdigital, Organik, and Sustain Release.
