With purest delight, I'm so excited to welcome Pjenné of Passing Notes Radio & Companion (@companionmelb) for the latest episode in our series. Penny's curatorial expertise and long-standing dedication to the Naarm/Melbourne scene have established her as a pillar of the city's sonic landscape, and both her love of musical discovery and unmistakable influence are felt deeply from afar. 

Pjenné's mix is a enchanting trip through fields of wonder, equal parts honey and gossamer, moving and blissfully sublime. Tender hues paint the air while fervent warmth fills the aching heart. Composed of producers Matthew Wilson and Lauren Squire, OK EG’s strident sound melds rhythm, bass and analogue synth. Known for their hardware-based live sets, the pair spiral around unpredictable patterns and interlocking grooves, encapsulating the unhinged energy of the Melbourne underground. For this special performance on Kiosk Radio, OK EG will perform new music written for their live set at Silent Green in Berlin as part of Kia's Cirrus label showcase. Expect exquisite ambient textures, deep rhythms and surprising trips into otherworldly electronica.

Madrid-based DJ and producer Alfonso Pomeda, aka F-on, is renowned for his experimental sound, blending dub, ambient, and experimental music. Founder of the Alpenglühen project and co-owner of Antimatter, he and his team run the club and festival Espacio Perpendicular, curate Barcelona's Mostra Festival, and perform at top global venues like Paral-lel, Vurt, and Gare Porto. His vinyl DJ sets take listeners on a rhythmic, dreamlike journey.

Our paths - in real life - first crossed at Mostra Festival in 2023, and it was one of those rare connections where you just know there’s much more to come. About the mix

Utopian says:
"This set was built around low BPM music, including some ambient techno gems from the ’90s. I played many tracks at their original speed, around 105 BPM, but slowed others down considerably. I don’t know what it is about this pitch range, but I absolutely love it. I think it’s a kind of techno with a special pedigree—almost magical. Maybe it’s because there isn’t a huge amount of it out there, and it’s hard to find, but what does exist is simply incredible.

That’s why I really enjoy creating a dense atmosphere, with wide, spacious basslines or trance-infused acid touches, sometimes drifting toward full-on trance or dub techno. While the session didn’t turn out perfect, in terms of selection, it’s one of my favorites.

That’s why it was such a pleasure to play it for all my friends at Temple, whom I admire so much. ♥️"

Endurance (@joshua-stefane) is the ambient project of Canadian-born Joshua Stefane. Using modular synthesizers, field recordings, and cassette tapes, Endurance’s sound has become increasing minimal and tonally-focused over the years, employing a minimum of elements to create a maximum of expressiveness. In addition to releasing from labels such as Constellation Tatsu and Mystery Circles, Endurance also curates the Japan-based tape label Muzan Editions (@muzaneditions). As a live performer, he has appeared at numerous high-profile events such as Kyoto’s Star Festival, Extremely Cold Music Festival, Moment, and Rural, with an increasing emphasis on bringing deep ambient soundscapes to techno music parties.
