Ali Latif Shushtari is a swiss-based Iranian composer and participant of the 5th International Young Composers Academy Ticino.

While studying Mathematics and Physics fulfilling both a Bachelor and a Master of Science degree, Ali Latif Shushtari educated himself in classical music and soon discovered his passion for music theory and composition which finally led him to change his academic focus. In September 2019, he was admitted directly to a Master’s degree program in Music Composition at Hochschule der Künste Bern. He currently specializes in composition with Xavier Dayer, Simon Steen-Andersen, and Dieter Ammann.

The piece aims to describe a diverse content within different sonic episodes. The musical roles are alternating between the performers in the framework of blurred and intense environments. The development and the combination of these different sonic environments result in continuous flux and energy, by creating multi layered textures. As heterogeneity and homogeneity are opposite words, it is logical that one complements the other by reflecting one another.
