After being a staple curator in Melbourne’s community radio scene, Adriana’s Tuesday 7-8 slot, Opalakia, was a fertile space for sharing flavours of dance-inflected world music to an eager band of fans, subscribers and listeners. 

Since leaving PBS, Adriana has launched Spasta, her instant classic party which has rapidly garnered a cult audience for its unpretentious, rhapsodic moments in the dancefloor. Spasta, which means ‘to break’ has smashed plates, thrown flowers at live Bouziki players, hosted traditional Pontian dancers and cracked eggs, with traditional Greek food and a daring programme of Australia’s, and the globe’s best record collectors and selectors. It’s a party made for the heads, with all your notions left at the doormat.


In the booth, Adriana is bound by nothing, coasting between traditional and contemporary sounds her sets are a sonic jaunt, touching down on all four corners of the globe on a rollercoaster that excites as much as it surprises. With unstoppable energy that radiates in any room, Adriana’s passion for the eclectic makes her one of the city’s finest and most down to Earth diggers. Expect a riot of genres, enthusiasm and curiosity, all delivered with smiles and an opa!

Aaron Montes is a Venezuelan DJ and producer born in the city of Barquisimeto. Focused on House and Techno music and its subgenres (Organic House, Afro House, Deep, Tech House, Melodic House & Techno), Aaron seeks to merge good groove with mystical sounds in each of his productions, incorporating ethnic percussion to mark his essence with organic and analog synthesizer sounds. Music has surrounded Aaron's life from an early age, with family members involved in the art of music as singers, percussionists, and string instrument players such as the guitar and the cuatro, among others. Watching his mother play the guitar and the Venezuelan cuatro, Aaron became interested in learning to play the cuatro, receiving theory and solfege lessons at the age of 9, taking music seriously as a discipline. In his adolescence, he delved into listening to different genres of electronic music, sparking his interest in becoming a DJ and creating his own tracks. By taking production courses, asking producer friends for advice, and watching tutorial videos, Aaron learned how to translate his ideas into electronic music tracks. Inspired by his Venezuelan roots, he has incorporated fragments of the cuatro and typical sounds in his original productions and remixes, as well as utilized instrumental fusions from Middle Eastern and African cultures. For Aaron, there is no "line" in music; he simply seeks to capture his essence and feelings in each element that makes up his tracks, regardless of genre, telling a story from beginning to end with his music.

A platform to share, promote and showcase the artistic talents of the countless individuals now apart of our six degrees. An opportunity to share and explore the monumental amount of talent that is continually created by those artistically inclined individuals that we increasingly encounter.

Freeform Collective will provide invaluable air time for artists whilst indulging fans to dizzying new heights of aural and aesthetic pleasures. An inclusive project that aims to promote artistic talent for the benefit of all.

The Freeform Collective will showcase a myriad of artistic mediums by exploring various themes ranging from the literal to the abstract.
