I’ve decided to remaster some albums and tracks that have already been released. Just felt I could give them a different kinda sound...

I import the audio files into the daw and then usually load one or more processors of some kind (vinyl, compressor, desk emulations etc) on the stereo master buss. This is configured to colour, shape the sound. My versions are sometimes lower in vol level than the originals. Some releases are hot to signal, but I'm looking for an inherent sound.

Sometimes I apply some chamber and or hall reverb.

I titled the piece Paperback Writer.
The tracks here are 1965 and pre ’65, Paperback Writer was released as a single in '66.

I made edits to Across The Universe, took out the lyrics,

There's some pagan references with the names here, to different pagan religions, not saying John was pagan, he wasn't, just lacked a little perception on this one. But not on many other things eh?
These names are also heard over the outro of the original (without the Om), I faded the track out before this.
(Interestingly David Bowie also took out these lyrics on his version of Across The Universe, on the Young Americans album, 1975).

-Hey Don Felder did you know that my father named a character after you in The Plumber* (1979). Not too many people have the name Don Felder, I haven't heard of anyone else. Peter saw your name on one of The Eagles albums as I recall it, thought why not use that name for one of the anthropologists in the film, the American guy. 
But I think you and the other Eagles can take it as a homage from him.

I decided to creatively remaster some albums and tracks that have already been released.  

A selection of tracks from Wish You Were Here, 1975

With this remist, I basically wanted to use two alternate versions of two of the tracks (recorded during the sessions, 1975), incorporating them into the album. These two tracks were released on the Wish You Were Here Experience Edition cd, 2011. 

The first is a version of Have A Cigar with Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters singing lead vocals instead of Roy Harper who is guest vocalist on the original release. This alternate version also has an extended guitar solo.

The second is a version of Wish You Were Here which I feel is better in sound and arrangement than the released version, also features Stéphane Grappelli on violin. 

The alternate version of Have A Cigar has a fade out, to silence. In the released version of the album the track decreases rapidly in volume to a washy synth sound towards the end of the track. It’s then put through effects to give the effect of the audio being heard through a car radio. Wish You Were Here then begins also in reduced volume, coming to full level after its intro.
In the intro we can hear someone sniffing (barely audible), the idea being that they’re sitting there listening to the song.

With the outtake track I followed the same idea to a certain extent, including creating a washy synth sound to replicate the original, but when there’s the switch to the radio sound I also put a reverb on the mix to give the effect of a warehouse, i.e. the idea of a worker or workers in a corporate warehouse listening to the track. 
I added samples of radio static and a variating radio frequency sound (replicating the original) from effects on the the moog, through to the intro of Wish You Were Here. 
Towards the end of Wish You Were Here I created some wind sound using the moog, earlier into the track, again following on from the concept in the released album, later allowing the original wind sound to take over where it came in.

I also recorded a sniff (of my own) and some background sounds, replicating the original.

For the remist I retitled tracks,

Rubber Soul es el sexto álbum de estudio de la banda británica de rock The Beatles, lanzado el 3 de diciembre de 1965.

Producido por George Martin, fue grabado en solo cuatro semanas para así poder aprovechar el mercado navideño. A diferencia de sus cinco álbumes anteriores, Rubber Soul fue el primero en ser grabado por sus autores durante un periodo específico concreto, sin ser interrumpido por giras musicales o proyectos fílmicos entre las sesiones de grabación del álbum.

El álbum fue descrito como un logro artístico importante de la banda, teniendo un amplio éxito comercial y de crítica, y haciendo que los encargados de la reseña tomasen nota de la visión musical que The Beatles iban desarrollando.

La edición original británica reflejaba la influencia del «soul» que mostraba el título de la portada del álbum. El listado de canciones cambiaba en la edición estadounidense, que incluía dos canciones acústicas provenientes del disco anterior británico Help!, dando a la versión americana una impronta de folk rock que los críticos atribuían a The Byrds y Bob Dylan.

Revolver es el séptimo álbum de estudio de la banda británica de rock The Beatles lanzado el 5 de agosto de 1966 por EMI. Fue el último álbum lanzado antes de que la banda decidiera abandonar los escenarios y las giras, a favor de la experimentación en los estudios de grabación. Ha sido considerado como uno de los álbumes más grandes e innovadores en la historia de la música popular, con reconocimiento centrado en su variedad de estilos musicales, diversos sonidos y contenido lírico.

El álbum estuvo acompañado por el sencillo doble "Eleanor Rigby/Yellow Submarine", ambas canciones convirtiéndose en número uno en Reino Unido, mientras que en los Estados Unidos ocuparon el primer y segundo lugar respectivamente. También se lanzó previamente por el sencillo de "Paperback Writer/Rain".

Revolver presentó varios nuevos desarrollos estilísticos que llegarían a ser más pronunciados en álbumes posteriores. Logró llegar al número uno en la lista de éxitos de varios países, entre ellos, el Reino Unido, Estados Unidos, Suecia y Australia, entre otros.

Aunque en el álbum Rubber Soul de 1965, la banda ya había empezado a experimentar tanto en la composición de sus canciones, como en el estudio, Revolver marca el dominio de estas mejoras, tanto así que se le considera obra cumbre del rock psicodélico. Así mismo es considerado como uno de los álbumes más innovadores, con una gran gama de sonidos, y un rico contenido musical y lírico, hizo toda una revolución en los estándares de grabación y de escritura musicales.

La portada del álbum, diseñada por Klaus Voormann consiste en dibujos de los cuatro integrantes de la banda, aunque para George Harrison, debido a los problemas para dibujarlo, recurrió a extraer ojos y boca de una fotografía del músico, para ponerlas en la imagen, también contiene un collage de varias fotos de la banda. Esta fotografía ganó el Grammy a mejor portada.

Revolver es citado frecuentemente como uno de los mejores álbumes de la historia de la música popular y del rock. En 1997 fue seleccionado en el tercer puesto de los mejores álbumes de todos los tiempos en una votación de Music of the Millennium dirigida en el Reino Unido por prestigiosos medios, como son HMV, Channel 4, The Guardian y Classic FM. En febrero de 1998 los lectores de la Q magazine colocaron al álbum en el segundo lugar, mientras que en el año 2001, la cadena de televisión VH1 lo situó en el primer puesto de entre los mejores 100 álbumes de todos los tiempos.

Revolver fue también votado como mejor álbum en el Virgin All Time Top 1,000 Albums. Una crítica de PopMatters describió el álbum como "[la obra] de la banda más grande de la historia de la música popular, cuyos miembros alcanzaron su punto más alto a nivel musical en el tiempo exacto",4​ mientras que la revista Ink Blot afirmaba que el álbum "se mantiene en la cumbre de la música popular occidental".

En 2003, Rolling Stone lo colocó en el puesto 3 de su lista de los 500 mejores álbumes de todos los tiempos, y en el puesto 2 de la lista elaborada por la revista NME.

En 2022 fue hecha una edición remezclada del álbum; mediante la inteligencia artificial usada en los documentales Get Back dirigidos por Peter Jackson. Los encargados de la nueva mezcla estereofónica fueron Giles Martin y Sam Okell.
