The LDP Boat Party is hitting its 26th year, and it’s crazy to think how it all started with just a few people wanting to spin some records out in nature. What began as a small gathering has grown into something much more—a floating family reunion that keeps growing, filled with people who share a deep love for music, friendship, and community. It’s more than just a party... These days it almost feels like a homecoming and I'm so grateful I get to be a part of it all.

Emerging as one of the most exciting talents in the Copenhagen club scene, Shaquille Beck McGosh, also known as Prom Night, has made a name for himself with his unique blend of house and disco music.

Raised in Aarhus by South African parents, Shaq’s sound is deeply rooted in the music that filled his childhood home. His parents’ record collection, filled with soul, funk, RnB, jazz, disco, and hip hop, formed the backbone of his diverse and versatile musical style.

DJing since the age of 14 and producing from 19, Shaq’s journey has been impressive. Now, years later, he is recognized for his powerful, uncompromising sets that dominate the underground scene in Copenhagen and beyond. His imprint, Prom Night Records, and his raves in the Danish capital have cemented his place as a key figure in the city’s vibrant nightlife.

Shaq’s sound is nostalgic, groovy, and sparkly, heavily influenced by 80’s pop culture. His selections blur the lines between sleazy disco cuts, italo house, afro-house, acid, and techno, often delivering an energetic fusion of 70’s and 80’s disco with contemporary house styles. He takes dancers on all-night journeys at venues like Copenhagen's Jolene, leaving an indelible mark on the EU scene.

Prom Night’s reach extends beyond local clubs. Shaq has performed at major festivals like Distortion, Roskilde, and Northside, and his mixes have aired on platforms such as HÖR Berlin, Rinse FM, and NTS. With each set, Shaq invites his audience into a world of Caribbean grooves, percussion-driven beats, and tropidisco rhythms, continuing to carve out his place as an artist to watch.
