É com um imenso prazer que estou aqui hoje, compartilhando um pouco de mim através da música. O set que vou apresentar não é apenas uma compilação de faixas. Ele é, na verdade, um reflexo das minhas emoções, sentimentos e experiências vividas ao longo de todo esse tempo. Cada batida, cada mixagem, representa um pedaço de mim e das pessoas que estiveram comigo nessa jornada.

Durante esse processo, tive a oportunidade de colaborar com amigos incríveis. Eles não apenas contribuíram para a criação deste set, mas também para a pessoa que me tornei. Trabalhar em conjunto com eles me permitiu explorar novas perspectivas, novos sons, e ampliar minha visão de mundo.

Minha jornada musical também me levou a transitar pelo universo do minimal. A simplicidade, a precisão, a sutileza deste estilo, tudo isso se alinha ao que busco transmitir na minha música. A ideia de que, muitas vezes, menos é mais, de que a beleza reside na essência, naquilo que é fundamental.

Então, preparem-se para uma viagem musical, onde a batida minimalista encontra a amplitude das emoções humanas. Vamos dançar, vamos sentir, vamos celebrar a vida através da música. Their tracks often made it into the top 100 beatport releases and were released on various top breaks labels such as Elektroshok and Distortion Records. Their music was supported by famous artists such as The Crystal Method, Aggresivnes, Destroyers, Under This, Sunsha, Orebeat and many others. Eerie | Deep Progressive House Set

Here is “The Soldier’s Story”, my first truly original cd for the prestigious American electronic music label Moonshine. For this release I was given complete control of choosing all of the music and really went out of my way to find the best future thinking, unreleased and heavy as hell drum and bass at that time. This one was not just for the dancefloor and really started to establish the way I would approach choosing music for all future mix projects. Some of the key tunes on here would be my collaboration with Technical Itch “Atlantic State”. The bassline was born out of a keyboard glitch and the cool pads in the intro are from a Skinny Puppy sample cd. The name was a nod to the classic 808 State tune “Pacific State” (the Atlantic ocean separates the USA and the UK ;). Jonny L “Bellz” was just a white hot smasher that I loved to death. And “The Stalker” was a weird super minimal tune that eventually became the anthem for my drum and bass weekly “Platinum" in Philly (everyone used to love that track!). For the intro I used a bunch of samples from the videogames Half Life and Quake (I found the sound libraries and broke them up and mined the shit out of them). At one point I was contacted by some people who worked on Half Life and they said they used to play my mix at the office. That was awesome. This mix sounds fast because I mixed it on my home turntables that were modified to play faster than normal. I always thought faster was better. The artwork was done by the late Todd Baldwin of Airline Industries. He hired famous Marvel comics artist Paul Gosier to draw me as a super soldier for the cover. Most people didn’t really think it looked like me ;) Finally, I lifted the title from the movie “A Soldier’s Story”. In the drum and bass scene a “soldier” is a die hard fan of the music. That pretty much sums me up to this day. Enjoy!

A Soldier's Story

Moved to Florida in 1997 and heard my first electronic music.  I fell in love.  A couple years later I bought my first turntables and began teaching myself to DJ in my spare bedroom.  I went on to spin mostly Breaks/Breakbeats around north Florida in the later 90's to 2000's.  Nearly 20 years later, and in the mountains of Virginia, USA, I remain true to techno & breakbeats. There isn't much of an electronic scene around here, but if you need a club DJ in the Roanoke/Lynchburg area of Virginia, please reach out. Thank you, and enjoy!
