I started making music as The Interceptor in 2009. My friend swapped an old guitar with me for an old Mac that barely worked and had an outdated version of Reason on it. I have since got some better software, but not that much better!
 Taking influence from horror film and video game soundtracks from the 70s/80s i wanted to make the kind of music that i loved as a kid. and still love now. I used to load up games on the ZX Spectrum just to listen to the music, i used to hold tape recorders up to TV speakers so i had tapes of the theme tunes and soundtracks i loved. When the idea came about that i could actually make music like that i had a go, and it came out ok, im always learning and trying to get better and create new feelings and sounds and atmospheres. I do love The Interceptor music, and if anyone else does thats a bonus, thank you.

Kat Knix is an impatient, slightly manic perfection work ethic with an unlimited thrive for making music with a poignant and an important message. But I can’t stress enough the importance of stupidity and not taking stuff too seriously. Cause life is serious enough.

With influences like Peaches, Kate Bush, Honey Dijon, The Blessed Madonna, Beth Ditto, PJ Harvey and Charlotte Adigéry, I enjoy combining my vocals with electronic/alternative dance production along with a sprinkle of indie rock and nu disco. 

In 2010 I settled in London where I spent 11 staggering years. Apart from being ignited by the ooze pouring out of the vibrant city, I was involved with musical collaborations like CRISP&CLASSY, and remixed for artists such as The Knife and Icona Pop.

You're walking on a grey day alone somewhere remote. It's raining and you're far away from home. You're contemplating your life. Where you've come from, where you are and where you're heading. Not quite sure how to feel about any of it. So you just walk towards the horizon. Picking out the natural and the man made structures large enough to make out. Wondering what they'll look like when you reach them, and then what you'll be able to see on the horizon from there.
