Helping me Draw The Line this week it’s FSJ who are from Phnom Penh in Cambodia. The set is called "On Beauty." It’s a live set created specifically for the Draw the Line. Deeply moved by the show’s support for female musicians, their live set draws inspiration from Kahlil Gibran's poetry collection "The Prophet," using the chapter ‘On Beauty’ as a vocal sample to convey the message that everyone is whole and perfect. The project features a total of 10 original tracks, collaboratively produced by Fin, San, and Joe (collectively known as FSJ).and it’s dedicated to all women.

She’s a relative newcomer to the scene but in a very short space of time she’s made quite an impact, signing her tracks to Mainground Music, Set About, Nova Collective, Pure Black and many more. Her entry in the recent Drumcode Mha Iri remix contest was runner up and her tracks have been played by artists like Kevin de Vries, Juliet Fox, Teenage Mutants and many others. Her DJ sets are a combination of old school sounds and modern elements creating dynamic driving techno sets. The mix you’re about to hear includes five of her own tracks, two of which are unreleased.

Australian dance duo Dance Cult have taken upon themselves to rinse Crookers' "I Just Can't" featuring Jeremih.

Skimming some classic sounding whirly synths akin to DJ Mujava's "Township Funk" while adding ultra clean production game the final result is a timeless bit of kit, especially with that vocal "whoa" echo'd throughout. 

It'll feature on the forthcoming Crookers "I Just Can't" remix EP through Onelove with a TBC on release date.

It’s been a while, but welcome back to Draw The Line Radio Show with me, Jacki-E. This is the first in an occasional series of DTL Extra, the show that celebrates music made by female and female identifying DJs and Producers. 

Helping me Draw The Line this week it’s Caroline Valença aka Amethysta a DJ, Producer and multi-artist from Brasília with a B2B set with her husband, Benicci. Her sets are raw, immersive, and uncompromising merging hypnotic, tribal and deep techno into unforgettable sonic narratives, building deep, long form journeys from the opening kick to the last drop. From Wrocław’s concrete halls to Cairo rooftops and Berlin basements she tells stories meant to be felt, not filtered.

Jacki-E & P-Mac are influenced by techno, deep house, jungle, dnb and the ethos of the acid house raves and festivals of the early 90's.  If you listen carefully you can hear the underlying stories which have influenced them in their preference for the darker edge of electronic dance music.
Jacki-E & P-Mac write and publish their own original tracks and re-mixes, play DJ sets in clubs, at private parties and for radio shows and podcasts .
