Helping me Draw The Line this week it’s FSJ who are from Phnom Penh in Cambodia. The set is called "On Beauty." It’s a live set created specifically for the Draw the Line. Deeply moved by the show’s support for female musicians, their live set draws inspiration from Kahlil Gibran's poetry collection "The Prophet," using the chapter ‘On Beauty’ as a vocal sample to convey the message that everyone is whole and perfect. The project features a total of 10 original tracks, collaboratively produced by Fin, San, and Joe (collectively known as FSJ).and it’s dedicated to all women.

She’s a relative newcomer to the scene but in a very short space of time she’s made quite an impact, signing her tracks to Mainground Music, Set About, Nova Collective, Pure Black and many more. Her entry in the recent Drumcode Mha Iri remix contest was runner up and her tracks have been played by artists like Kevin de Vries, Juliet Fox, Teenage Mutants and many others. Her DJ sets are a combination of old school sounds and modern elements creating dynamic driving techno sets. The mix you’re about to hear includes five of her own tracks, two of which are unreleased.

This is Draw The Line Radio Show presented by Jacki-e, featuring my mix in the 1st hr composed entirely of music made by women and then, for the 2nd hr, I hand the decks over to a female DJ.

Helping me Draw The Line this week, with her guest mix in the 2nd hr, is Light Gal who comes from London.

Her passion for electronic music was ignited during her time at Bristol University, frequenting iconic clubs such as Lakota, Motion and Dojo. Kicking off her DJ career in Ibiza, highlights since have included; Ministry of Sound, UK festivals, East London sets and performing alongside legends such as Hernan Cattaneo, Darren Emerson and Danny Howells. Having set up her own touring event ‘Minority Influence’, championing ethnic minority and female DJ’s, Light Gal is a fierce supporter of emerging talent in the house and techno scene.

Gina B is a Manchester based Promoter and DJ with a focus on representing a diverse and inclusive club music scene. Since founding her brand ‘Lucid Juice’ in 2019, Gina has curated hefty lineups across multiple genres of electronic music with huge success. Her passion for high energy bass driven sounds has inspired her to venture into DJing where she incorporates a mixture of dubstep, footwork & jungle into her regular sets on Subtle Radio. Helping me Draw the Line this week it’s Jo d’Arc from Dunfermline in Scotland. Weaving alt-punk roots through driving tribal techno beats, Jo D'arc creates a swirling mix of pounding, dark techno music. She’s performed at free parties and raves all over the country and has played underground venues in unique locations - from castles to boats. As a producer, she’s released tracks on Booty Shake Records as well as remixing various acts including Colonel Mustard and the D’jon 5, Ciaran Mac and Girobabies. Most recently, she’s focused her energies on a new project ‘Minerva Wakes”. She’s also one half of punk duo, The Twistettes, who make loud thumping punk music.

Together with her partner P-Mac, she has two weekly radio shows, A Darker Wave, which streams every Saturday on NLive Radio, Circl8 Radio & Echo Radio, playing the best in underground techno, tech house and deep house; & Draw The Line Radio Show every Friday on Echo Radio and every Saturday on Circl8 Radio featuring the best music by female & gender minority DJs and Producers.
Jacki-E & P-Mac are influenced by techno, deep house, jungle, dnb and the ethos of the acid house raves and festivals of the early 90's.  If you listen carefully you can hear the underlying stories which have influenced them in their preference for the darker edge of electronic dance music.
Jacki-E & P-Mac write and publish their own original tracks and re-mixes, play DJ sets in clubs, at private parties and for radio shows and podcasts .
