Helping me Draw the Line this week with her guest mix in the second hour it’s AM.I  who’s from Antwerp in Belgium. Her music career is on the up and up and her rise through the ranks of Belgian clubland and beyond has been driven by her dynamic DJ sets which culminated with her opening set on the Drumcode stage at this years’ Tomorrowland Festival. She started producing her own tracks in 2016 with a sharp and dark edge that gives a new, fresh edge to melodic techno. She’s had releases on Set About, Tragedie, Ballroom Black and many others.

Helping me Draw The Line this week it’s FSJ who are from Phnom Penh in Cambodia. The set is called "On Beauty." It’s a live set created specifically for the Draw the Line. Deeply moved by the show’s support for female musicians, their live set draws inspiration from Kahlil Gibran's poetry collection "The Prophet," using the chapter ‘On Beauty’ as a vocal sample to convey the message that everyone is whole and perfect. The project features a total of 10 original tracks, collaboratively produced by Fin, San, and Joe (collectively known as FSJ).and it’s dedicated to all women.

Her entry in the recent Drumcode Mha Iri remix contest was runner up and her tracks have been played by artists like Kevin de Vries, Juliet Fox, Teenage Mutants and many others. Her DJ sets are a combination of old school sounds and modern elements creating dynamic driving techno sets. From Wrocław’s concrete halls to Cairo rooftops and Berlin basements she tells stories meant to be felt, not filtered.

Jacki-E & P-Mac are influenced by techno, deep house, jungle, dnb and the ethos of the acid house raves and festivals of the early 90's.  If you listen carefully you can hear the underlying stories which have influenced them in their preference for the darker edge of electronic dance music.
