Frolic is a new musical alias, by a Bristol based DJ, that fuses different musical genres in ways that shouldn’t make sense, embracing the silly and the unexpected. Mixing both analogue and digital records together imaginatively, which sometimes requires some heavily involved live beat matching where the drummer drops a beat.
The tune selection is vibrant and eclectic, with music from all over the world rejecting a formulaic understanding of how a dance party should be.  
How to free ourselves on the dancefloor and how the dancefloor can free our everyday reality requires some proper meditation, so a complimentary aim of this project is to deconstruct some of the norms and limitations in club culture through essays, collaborations, interviews and workshops.
