April Layne is an independent country artist and songwriter based in Washington, D.C., blending emotional honesty with a self-taught, homegrown approach to music. After a breakup in 2021, she began writing and producing music as a personal outlet—teaching herself the foundations of composition entirely by ear. What started as therapy quickly became a calling, as her intimate, story-driven demos began gaining attention behind the scenes. Influenced by a wide range of musical styles from a young age, April’s sound is raw, resonant, and unmistakably her own. She now writes, produces, and helps others shape their music, staying grounded in creativity over spotlight—selective, intentional, and always true to her craft.
