So happy to share this live recording of my set at Envision 2024 from the deep jungle of Costa Rica. Operation Love Life is definitely in full swing.

It was an honour to stand on the iconic Lapa stage, tickle its amazing sound system and groove to one for most electric dance floors in the world. 

Envision will always hold a special place in my heart. The humans it attracts and the values it stands on are in full alignment with who I am an artists and more importantly a person.

As a fan, I loved sticking around to shimmy shake to many other incredible sets all weekend. Sticking my feet on dance floors and locking in is really important part to gather as much inspiration from other as possible. Making space to shut off my brain and just enjoy others do their thing. My highlights of the week were Paso Doble, Maga, Drisss Skali, Parallelle & Chaim.

This sonic ride is my funky twist on the raw energy that these grounds evoke. Some unreleased thunder hiding in the cracks of this one.

Massive props to everyone who put this gathering together, I offer this set a token of my appreciation to your work. Otter if you read this, special thanks for how you held down Lapa all week. Of course deep respect for brother Driss for getting me out there.

Also blessed I got to share this moment with the home town homies Papa Tosh & Hunks / Unks, love you both.

Dusty Psychedelia

A voyage through deep space to inner stillness...

Originally, we had prepared to share this meditative sonic experience at the Texas Eclipse Festival just before sundown after the eclipse. Mother Nature had other plans, and after parting the clouds to let us marvel in totality, she sent a storm our way, ending the festival early and sending us back to Austin. There we were blessed with the perfect space to share this cosmic journey. 

After weeks of rehearsing and a truly transformative time at the festival, it was a fitting end to gather with family, friends, and fellow eclipse chasers in the auditorium of @casadeluz_atx for this much-needed integration. Whether you attended the festival or not, we hope you enjoy this 90-minute voyage - a collaboration between @jacqui.mateo and @__souland__ featuring the gong, vocals, and space cello. Listen to the set however you feel called - but if you can find a comfortable space to sit or lay down with headphones or nice speakers and close your eyes we’d recommend it.

Jacqui Mateo draw from a wide range of influences to create their unique sound: soulful, groovy, playful, futuristic, and from the heart.

From Chicago and currently residing in Los Angeles, Jac & Matt grew up immersed in music and were classically-trained from an early age. Performing and producing individually for years, it was mid-2020 in a cabin in Wyoming when they dove headfirst into DJing. They’ve since had the opportunity to play around the world from Berlin to Burning Man, performing alongside artists such as Lee Burridge, Jimi Jules, and Satori. Their sound continues to evolve as they blend their Chicago house roots with hypnotic grooves, emotive melodies, and a dash of jazz, ambient, and old school rave energy. 

Outside of Jacqui Mateo, Jac is a cellist, vocalist, and sound meditation facilitator. She has released music as Jac Høja (@jachoja), Jac Støvler, and with A Billion Young (@abillionyoung). Matt is a violinist and DJs under his name Matthew McClone. 

They are also co-founders of REVIVEcollective (@revivecollective), a community of 80+ artists & creatives in Chicago, Los Angeles, Denver, and beyond. With REVIVE, they have produced immersive underground events, supported the release of a mix series and three compilation albums, and organized a creative retreat in New Mexico.
