I first heard of @crazyp When they were known as Crazy Penis. This was when I picked up the 12” issue of @paperrecordings 44 from a store called HMV in 2000 for those of you who remember. 

It wasn’t until I heard the passing of Danielle that made me realise how much Crazy P’s music had influence on many of my DJ sets over the years and I hope this short compilation and tribute mix sum up some of their more underground works which I have had the pleasure of supporting in my sets. 

Death is a painful truth, but death is only a thought, don’t believe your thoughts. “Live as if death is just over your left shoulder,” advised the Yaqui medicine man Don Juan. 

Death can happen at any time… be ready. Live and love in moment, say what needs to be said, learn to love and let go.

Bring your awareness to the rising phenomena of existence and the transition of change. The cycle of life! science states energy can neither be created nor destroyed, just transformed.

Ironically this mix ends with the track entitled “there’s a better place’” perhaps that is where Danielle now resides.

As a species there has always been an intangible belief that there is something beyond the final frontier of consciousness, something beyond this life, beyond the rainbow bridge. 

That is not for me to say however, such as all the greats the legacy of their music continues for years to come, invulnerable to the winds of time and many more dances to come, Thank You to Danielle and Crazy P for brining the magic to the dance floor. I am sure there are many of you who danced the night away smiling and embracing that magic. 

My thoughts go out to all those feeling the loss of the physical form, all friends, fans and family, the music will always prevail RIP. In Gratitude.

Melodic Diggers 046: 'Inaugural' by Jac The Disco

Jay Rossi aka Jac the Disco and head honcho at independent label ‘ SPIN ON THIS MUSIC’  has spent the last 18 years DJ’ing in some of London’s hottest late night dancing spots and beyond. He’s released on labels such as San Francisco’s Roam Recordings, Amsterdam's Silhouette Music, Night Noise, Eclectics and US label Wonder Stories which saw his release ‘highest heights’ hit the Number 1 spot on Juno’s Disco Chart the following month after its release.

His carefully executed productions have gained notable DJ and radio support from some of dance music’s finest; including the likes of Mano Le Tough, Michael Mayer, Ewan Pearson, B:Traits, Superpitcher, A Love From Outer Space, Axel Boman, Massimiliano Pagliara, Ame, Booka Shade and Jennifer Cardini to name a few.

Best known for his heady mix of nu disco, dreamy balearic, psychedelic house and synth-driven techno along with his ability to read the dance floor has enabled him to work a crowd either warming up with sleazy laid back grooves or ramping things up into peak-time misbehaviour and up into the stratosphere.
