One year on from the launch of their inaugural “Rotation” programme, Addictive Behaviour’s various-artist shuttle orbits earth once more. On board this time, a crew of 21 intrepid pioneers, bringing with them a diverse spectrum of musicality and D&B engineering expertise to the quest. Armed, locked and loaded with an assault of sophisticated phonic weaponry, their mission is simple. Audio annihilation!

This 2nd chapter to Addictive Behaviour’s dynamic album series is their most ambitious project to date. An otherworldly journey showcasing an edgy and explosive array of raw talent from a collective of old and new artists from the Addictive camp. Embarking on this Rotation, and making their label debut is an impressive ensemble of well-known names as well as fresh up and coming, cutting edge producers. Nick Bee rains in the darker, techy vibes with his “Ghetto Politics”, as do Kyrist & Babarix in their obliterating “Maikuro Funk” collab. Meanwhile, Release, Tephra & Arkoze, Data 3 & Modu provide their own unique variations, beaming with moody subs and percussive vibes, encapsulating the Addictive Behaviour tone to great effect. Philth adds a fresh, melodic, vocal composition to the deep end of the mix in “The Big Question” whilst Dom & Roland’s Xanadu is commissioned for remixing duties delivering an explosive new take on Detail’s “Breakout”.

Talking of which, joining the new recruits on this expedition, long term label regulars Detail & L 33 step into the fray, flexing their elements of neuro-tech styles and adding momentum to this growing satellite of revolving music production. Also on board this charter, some recent Addictive additions. Mystic State’s “Eye Contact” and Nami’s “Downpour” push the audio transit on with their bass fuelled roller’s rocketing us in to unknown territory.

Finally, kicking in the afterburn, are the Rotation – Part One veterans. Artifact returns with another relentless aural display in “Materialist” whilst Fade brings a heavy metallic attack in “Hold Tight” Finishing off the universal carnage TR Tactics are joined by relative label newcomers The Clamps to bring us a full on neuro assault in “Conscious”.

Rotation –Part Two will be making it’s re-entry in to Earth’s atmosphere on September the 30th. The 14 track LP is an awe-inspiring amalgamation of complex layered productions showing us once again the label’s ability to evolve. An immersive and varied, frontier pushing display with one unifying theme echoing from its core once again. . . Good quality production.

Snow crunched lightly under his paws as he made his way across the forest floor in the still darkness. Faint light from the pale moon penetrating the depths of the woods occasionally rippled across his fur as he moved stealthily towards the perimeter. The fur around his mouth carried the stains of the many carcasses those pointed teeth had torn into as their dark-tinted red warmth slipped away beneath his fearsome frame. His blood appetite freshly sated, it was time to return to his brothers. The torn and broken light of the forest’s horizon spread across his good eye, that portal to the open plains and the mountains beyond. Smells of the forest’s life and the subtle sounds of the slowly beating hearts of its hibernating inhabitants surrounded him, each distinctly offering the promise and debt of the food they would become with the cyclic melt. His iris shrunk as he padded out into the pure white snow plain, their god, the mountain, towering above in all of its bleak awe. A frozen gust blew across his fur, carrying with it the sound of the distant bloodhowl of his kind, a twisted mournful note full of rage that resonated with his instinct, triggering adrenaline and flooding his form with anger. Quickening his pace, he darted for the pack, lips curled back against fangs that would soon let another pathetic usurper’s lifeforce spill onto nature’s coldest of blankets. The lair of the Wölfe lay ahead, his kind... connected in cruel mortality.

EATBRAIN welcome FOURWARD and his brothers to the fold, bringing a wealth of deadly talent to the label in the forms of SIGNAL and PHENTIX on production and the sharply delivered vocals of the legendary VIRUS SYNDICATE. Constituting one of the label’s heaviest releases to date, and dripping with freshness manifested from such a mix of veteran and rising talent, the ‘Wölfe’ EP stands mightily as one of the most intense slices of d&b in 2018, carving a pure and fierce path to the head of the pack.

Deep within the shifting sands lay the remains of a once great city, a monument to the hubris of those who had once thought they could conquer the indomitable forces of the planet. To hold back the everpresent encroachment of the dunes they had raised walls of great heights, built upon the sacrifice of those least fortunate among them, those condemned to work beneath the blistering heat of the land. It was through their blood that the city was built, through their blood that the fortunate lived in such an otherwise inhospitable climate. As the death of these sacrifices increased however, they bore new life elsewhere. Their blood, seeping through the cracked desert soil, awakened something long since sealed away.

Fed by their misery, the creature’s power grew beneath the dunes. For each that fell it became stronger, its hunger rising as it tasted more and more that which had been denied to it for so long. Upon the night of the sun’s peak it rose, driven by the heat that still radiated from the earth. It was a malstrom of sand, fire, and bone, an amalgamation of destruction which surged across the landscape. What little life there was in this desolate place was subsumed into its maw, becoming a part of the dynamo which swept towards the city. Its winds battered against the walls, grinding their stones to dust which only furthered the creature’s power. In minutes it had broken through, and as the city was swallowed within the vortex the DUST DEVIL reclaimed for the desert what was its own once again.

MIZO returns to EATBRAIN with the release of DUST DEVIL, a five track EP featuring collaborations with TRILO & CHASER. DOUBLE RUSH features the powerful combination of MIZO & CHASER, as well as the combination of a frantic topline and charging bass which work together to move the track forwards at a rapid pace. DUST DEVIL whips this dynamic energy into a further frenzy as its basses whirl with unrestrained fury atop a devastating drumbeat. While the gradual approach of HORIZON grows to become a steady lock-step rhythm that soars with effortless aptitude over its arpeggiated bassline, MIZO & TRILO’s ARTIFICIAL NOISE takes a different approach as it leaps into the musical melee, bolstered by the power of its roaring synths.The second collaboration with CHASER, CONTACTLESS, closes the EP, its desolate soundscape quickly transformed into a tech filled groove that rides upon its rolling sub and the strange shiftings of its tonal topline synths. In 2019 the name JADE is one that has deep respect attached to it in Drum and Bass circles, with his EATBRAIN imprint standing as one of the most highly regarded neurofunk labels around. For the last 5 years, the label has gone from strength to strength, with Jade headlining some of Europe’s largest festivals, such as Boomtown, Dour, NASS, and Let It Roll, and clubs such as London’s infamous FABRIC. His concept and sonic aesthetic has rapidly taken over a vast portion of the European drum and bass scene, extending across the Americas in recent years, establishing a firm and growing fanbase for him in that area of the world.

His belief in the neurofunk genre saw him starting to put out releases under the Eatbrain name in 2011, forging their specific and highly energetic take on dnb at a time where musical trends were moving in other directions. Forward unto now, and his work has affected the sonic landscape drastically – with Eatbrain events occurring regularly across Europe in both packed clubs and vast festival stages. Jade now stands as the head of one of the strongest identities in dnb, armed with an unrequitable urge to continually evolve and push his sound and the sound of his label into evermore dystopian future territories.
 
Hungarian-born Simon Gabor started unleashing his aggressive and forward-thinking style upon the world with ‘GOT LOST’ leading to a string of releases on Citrus Recordings that culminated in his first ‘VENOM’ LP. The tracks within including ‘NO CURE’ and ‘VENOM’ had an ongoing defining effect on the neurofunk genre, and are regarded as timeless classics essential to the history of dnb. Following the establishment of Eatbrain, he further explored the possibilities of the sound with tracks like ‘AUDIO HYPNOSIS’ and ‘SMASH FACE’, but most significantly he started to gather a crew of like-minded producers to release on the label and start the real growth. To date, Eatbrain has featured an impressive roster of artists, including fellow collaborator Mindscape, State of Mind, Teddy Killerz, L 33 and Mefjus just to name a few.
 
Jade emerged once again in the field of incredibly effective production for the dancefloor with the release of ‘RESPIRATOR’ in collaboration with State of Mind and ‘THEY ARE MUTANTS’ featuring on the ‘MIRROR UNIVERSE’ LP project. Since then, Jade has dispatched a pair of absolutely searing manifestos on EATBRAIN with the release of the AWAKE and PROPAGANDA EPs in 2018. These crowned his status as not just the leading figure of one of the most respected dnb labels, but also a true force to be reckoned with in pioneering new forms of tech-driven dnb, as well as transferring those sensibilities to other tempos.

the future is a vast place for Jade and his ability to slay any dancefloor with the vision of Eatbrain. Demand continues to soar exponentially for Eatbrain with every stunning release, and a huge audience of fans waits tensely for what 2019 will bring.
