Synth Society Montréal is an informal collective of amateur and professional musicians, composers synth designers and DIY enthusiasts who want to share and learn from each other. Anyone is welcome to attend and listen, play and chat about modular synthesizers and music.

Owner of ONO Records and sub labels ONOMAR and ONOBOTS, Jan Pienkowski loves to create and share his unique blend of music and sounds. His music, electroacoustic and physics training and deep affection for house, techno, dub, world, classical and jazz bring a diverse palette of textures, grooves and acoustic spaces. While his studio work for labels, dance, film and video game projects grows in demand, Jan is equally at home behind the decks making people dance in clubs and festivals across the globe (Barcelona, Madrid, Mexico City, Hong Kong, Warsaw, Montreal ++).

Back home in Montreal, Jan DJs in the best clubs the city has to offer (SAT, Salon Daomé, Stereo Bar, Laika, Peopl/UN, Kanalbar) as well as making festival appearances for Mutek, Elektra, Black & Blue, MEG, Divers/Cité, Nuit Blanche. He has been a resident artist at the Société des arts technologiques [SAT] (one of the most unique digital art spaces in the world) for over ten years, producing and performing DJ/VJ/LIVE events and interdisciplinary immersive live shows as well as developing and teaching music production courses. 

Jan's constant quest for pushing the boundaries of electronic music and live performance has given him the chance of collaborating with the Opera of Montreal, to be the music and sound composer for the film RE-GENERATION commissioned for the UN COP21 Conference on Climate Change in Paris, the music director and performer in DOMAGAYA - an encounter of Aboriginal Cultures and Digital Arts for the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada during the 400th anniversary of Quebec City, as well as to be chosen by the British Council as the Canadian Representative for the Cultural Leadership International (CLI) initiative.

While steadily developing an unique sound during intense studio sessions, schoeneberg already captured the audience in Berlin clubs.

Because of their various approaches to music in general – both have played in different bands before – the two don't stick to one genre exclusively and want to create without boundaries. The sound of schoeneberg comprises elements of techno, dense basses and hypnotic vocals, or how The 405 Magazine wrote recently: "The best way to describe schoeneberg and what they bring to the game is pure and simple: versatility and determination."

ALICIA HUSH
[Hushlamb, Canada]

Born in Ontario, Canada and now based in Mexico, Alicia is a producer who captivates both ears and hearts with her diverse expressions of energy. Her music embodies the essence of a life dedicated to creation, dancing to, and drawing inspiration from music itself. Alicia's raison d’être is to be moved by music and to move others in return. 
Her live performances are an exhilarating blend of vibrant energy that stimulates both mind and body. From sweet and subtle beginnings to a whirlwind of heavy basslines, playful vocals, and quirky melodies, Alicia's music takes listeners on a journey from deep introspection to carefree elation, united by its ability to stir the soul.
Since 2012, Alicia has been a fixture on Montreal's dance floors, making regular appearances at renowned events such as MUTEK, Piknic Electronik, and Igloofest. Her dynamic and heartfelt live sets have also graced stages across the globe, from Berlin's iconic venues like Tresor and Club der Visionäre, to festivals such as Festival Internacional de Santa Lucía in Monterrey, Mexico, Transart Festival in Bolzano, Italy, and the Roatan Electronic Experience Festival in Honduras.  
In 2022 Alicia created music for Montreal’s Oasis Immersion exhibit at The Palais des congrès de Montréal.  In 2023 Alicia completed residencies at Montreal’s Maison de la culture Janine-Sutto and Maison de la culture Notre-Dame-de-Grâce – Botrel where she collaborated in a unique audience participatory audio/visual performance.  Recently, under her new alias Felicia Lush, Alicia has brought her experimental trip-hop blend to Montreal’s MUTEK Festival and Centre PHI. She has also collaborated on mesmerizing audio-visual performances with some of Montreal’s top visual artists, including Elysha Poirier and Sasha Vreca (Ionsea), enriching her creative journey. In 2014, Alicia launched the Hushlamb Label Project in Montreal, a testament to her commitment to fostering innovative musical talent alongside Sarah Lamb.

There are usually five sessions per event.
We've seen Buchla, Serge, and Eurorack systems as well as software synthesizers, lasers and video synths.

All sessions are recorded.
