After listening to many Freerotation recordings over the years, it feels a bit surreal to share this one. I had such a great time meeting the freero community. Very special to feel the positive vibe and patience to build something new.

Here is the first in what I'm hoping will be a regularly recorded mid-afternoon, unplanned mix series alongside my brother from a Spanish mother @raul_rs. And maybe even the odd solo outing too.

But for this first effort we go b2b keeping things below 90bpm as we dip, dive and chug our way through an afternoon, proving to no one but ourselves that "everything sounds better when you slow it down". So unbuckle your seat belt, grab yourself a spanner and prepare to bypass the compressor because the next 2.5 hours we'll be dropping out of light speed with "those weirdos you sometimes see at a festival", Raul and SBat. I've got a bad feeling about this...

sounds of healing vol. 8

A fittingly lush mix filled with dusty, wobbly perfection from the lovely Helsinki based @suskidj this week.

I met Suski when she warmed up for me the first time I played at Post Bar in Helsinki a few years ago - a place i've returned to a few times and truely adore! Suski is a resident at the much-loved Helsinki club. I was initially drawn to her dj'ing as the set she played as a warm-up in Post Bar was a pitch-perfect and contextually divine fit for the space & time. 

This mix is a poignant follow up - diving through through the rich textures of immersive techno, and an entire journey through the world of electronica & idm with broken beats, ambience and charmingly off-kilter percussive rhythms.

Brussels-based producer and DJ with Irish roots, Dylan Thomas is known for crafting immersive, genre-defying electronic music. His sound blends elements of ambient, techno, and experimental electronics, always guided by a strong conceptual drive and an instinct for emotional depth. His debut LP, We Don’t Own, We Create, released on the forward-thinking label @futurepastnosenseoftime , captures his philosophy as both a musician and a creator: resisting rigid definitions in favor of constant evolution and sonic exploration.
Dylan has built a solid presence in the Belgian underground scene, with performances at iconic venues such as @fusebrussels and @c12brussels . Whether through his productions or his DJ sets, he invites listeners into a soundscape that is hypnotic, textured, and always in motion.

For the newest instalment, i'm really happy to welcome the incredible Brussels-based AliA (@aliamusicc). The local mainstay is a regular on Kiosk radio and runs her own label - @artisjokrecords. Alyah, better known as AliA,  has an exciting & unique approach to dj'ing. She is known for her blend of contemporary club music with jazz, classical and experimental sounds. 

I find AliA's musical outputs incredibly refreshing - the kind of artist who reminds you what a really good DJ can do - they can present genres & sounds to you that you'd otherwise maybe not typically explore, in a new and exciting way. For her Animix, Alyah has gone for an intensely chill blend of ambient & immersive music, with minimal, glitchy, dub techno, jazz, classical sounds and more.
