wrote this song when my wife's parents were moving from her childhood home. it has always felt like home to me as well 

Within these walls

This song was written for Food of the North (previously Ugly Food) based out of the FM area. I think I first heard about this organization during an event about food waste. Since that time, I have seen them grow into a powerful voice in our community. I am so grateful that we can learn from them.

She seemed to me to be dreamy but I was fine being on my own for the time being.
I was out there living my life loving almost every single second it's true.
But each time that I saw Kassandra I questioned everything I thought I knew.

Heart and Soul Cafe

PopTech is the most incredible thing that I had never heard of. Artists, Business Leaders, Politicians, Philanthropists, Researchers, NASA scientists, people imagining and designing a better future all come here to learn from each other and present their ideas to the community. 
After the first day, I was hooked. I looked at my notes and started writing a piece that would be a summary (hopefully) touching on every single amazing presenter. I shared this initial draft online and then found myself talking to the host of the conference about it. Before I knew it, I was volunteering to write a summary of the second day and the third, and present it in front of all these incredible people. 
I continue to be inspired by the amazing work of everyone who was able to be at PopTech this year. I can't wait to see all the upcoming collaborations that are now possible, thanks to the vision of the generosity of the Bush Foundation.

James Bergman is a singer/songwriter who creates and performs original pieces in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Inspiration for his music comes from his family, his community, and the stories of those around him. While many of his songs are inspired by his own life, he often collaborates to write commissioned songs for individuals and organizations. He also is an SLP for special needs preschool children and has a wife and two kids of his own.
