It's one a.m. on Friday night, and I'm sitting on the floor in a beautiful massive teepee at Mycelium Festival. A fire warms the center of the space, and friends are circled around, lying on blankets and pillows as the Serendipity Tea Lounge serves tea, and it's such a viiiiibe.

I have no idea where we are going to go. I don't know what I'm going to play. I close my eyes and let the music take us.

I got so lucky that it rained on Friday and I ended up getting to play this set in its entirety, but alas it wasn't recorded! This is my live recording from the Rhythm Sanctuary Ecstatic Dance on January 11, 2024. The feedback loop from music > to dancer > to DJ > to music > to dancer > to DJ was on a level I have not experienced. A unifying field emerged in the space where energies rose and fell and rose and fell and transmuted, transformed, healed and grew. And we emerged . . . expanded. Deep gratitude to this community.

I’ve been attending Subtract on the Pier since 2018 and always been fascinated by its intimate location right above the ocean, the power of the sound, happy faces of the people dancing and of course incredible talents playing! 

Here’s over 3 hours of deep progressive beats with mesmerizing Middle Eastern ethnic influences as my opening tribute to Anton Tumas and Henry Saiz. By the way, Henry was also the first-ever artist booked for Subtract back in 2011 and I’m extremely honored to share my debut with the primal OG! 

Big thanks to Anton for putting on such a remarkable event. And thank you dancers! Hope you enjoy the ride as much as I did!

This was the closing set on Saturday night at Love Fest 2024!  This was the most fun I've ever had djing.  The vibration was high and people were getting down!  So much love on the dance floor.  This was a musical journey highlighting the growth in my personal life over the last year.  It is a fun combination of house, afro house, tech house, and funky house.

James began DJing because there was a musical expression inside of him that he had to let out. He felt the music he loved so deeply, he wanted to help create that experience for others as well. James has delighted dance floors from the Playa to theaters, from clubs to cabanas, and from intimate gatherings to expansive venues.

James has set the vibe at Pink Mammoth, played the Boulder Theater (on Halloween night!), and been a regular for Daybreaker Colorado. In addition to these events, James has shared the stage with the likes of Justin Martin, Lee Foss, and The Polish Ambassador. James understands from multiple perspectives what it takes to put on epic events having provided and operated the sound equipment for Below Radar. When he plays out, he brings to bear this diverse experience.

James isn't tied to a specific genre of House music; he's tied to his commitment to playing music that he feels deeply. He brings soulful beats to dance floors wherever he goes; curating musical experiences that make bodies move.
