Medicine Dance - Reborn | with live vocals

A 3 hours journey played for nearly 200 people, dancing around a fire, surrounded by lush jungle on a tropical island. 

Highlights:

- Slow build up and a few melodic breaks throughout
- Four Amapiano songs, which is slowish jazzy Afro-house from South Africa
- A super popular song that gave the dancers a lot of satisfaction
- A Ray Charles soul song from 1959, remixed with Drum and Bass
- A few cinematic songs that gave a magical Elfish vibe
- As Gaya the medicine woman put it, it was "grounded fire". I've used this description myself and touched that she felt it as well

es heisst Abschied nehmen.
Oder das Finden von Metamorphosen,
Möglichkeiten und Varianten
In diesem Lichtschacht,
Balkone stockwerkehoch,
Kinderlaute, Frühjahrszucken,
Ein Tisch, ein Wiedersehen.
Freude und zwanzigmaliges Lächeln
wie ich es lange nicht sah.
Es ist, es war, es ist, es war

Traum.
Dann wacht man auf
bemerkt den Lichtschacht,
vermerkt: “gib acht,
du lässt wieder etwas sterben”
bleibt der Tunnel, und an dessen Ende

Nichts.
Laken wieder seitlich werfen,
Kissenberge, Bettkantenhoch.
Katzenschnurren, Dachfensterschimmer.
Kein Lächeln noch ein Wiedersehen.
Erkenntnis, zweihundertfaches: Ach was soll’s

James Frost is a musician and songwriter whose life and music are deeply rooted in the wild landscapes and creative communities of Dartmoor, UK.

He has toured extensively, playing shows with Martha Tilston, James Yorkston, Tiny Ruins and many other folk heroes, alongside festival appearances at Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Wilderness and Folk East.

In the studio, James has been privileged enough to work with legendary record producer Clive Langer (David Bowie, Elvis Costello, David Byrne) who contributed production to James' first EP ‘Nameless’. 

Upon release, the title track was chosen as one of BBC 6Music Tom Robinson’s picks of the week, leading to a session for BBC Introducing and a sold out launch event at London’s Servant Jazz Quarters.

With growing support, James launched a crowdfund to record his debut album ‘All Of Our Hands’, raising over £16,000 from fans, with additional backing from Arts Council England and Help Musicians. 

The album, part-recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios, is a feast of uplifting songs and acoustic instrumentation, featuring a wide range of western and world instruments, choirs, gospel singers, live band recording and sparkling audio production. 

Guest vocalists include Kyla Jade (American gospel singer, finalist on The Voice USA), Carmody (London-based vocalist who collaborates with Tom Misch) and gospel choir 'Soul Of The City' as part of an international line up of over 100 musicians and singers who contributed.
