Csárdás (or Czardas) is the only famous composition of Vittorio Monti. A rhapsodical concert piece written in 1904, it is a well-known folk piece based on a Hungarian csárdás. It was originally composed for violin, mandolin or piano. Nowadays, it is usually played on the violin, but can also be played as a piano solo, saxophone solo, on the accordion, or as an orchestral arrangement. The duration of the piece is about four

In Don Nigro's satirical comedy Paganini (1995), the great violinist seeks vainly for his salvation, claiming that he unknowingly sold his soul to the Devil. "Variation upon variation," he cries at one point, "but which variation leads to salvation and which to damnation? Music is a question for which there is no answer." Paganini is portrayed as having killed three of his lovers and sinking repeatedly into poverty, prison, and drink. Each time he is "rescued" by the Devil who appears in different guises, returning Paganini's violin so he can continue playing. In the end, Paganini's salvation—administered by a god-like Clockmaker—turns out to be imprisonment in a large bottle where he plays his music for the amusement of the public through all eternity. "Do not pity him, my dear," the Clockmaker tells Antonia, one of Paganini's murdered wives. "He is alone with the answer for which there is no question. The saved and the damned are the same."

من أشهر أعماله “La Streghe”  أي الراقصات الساحرات ، من شدة روعة هذه المعزوفة إتهمه البعض بأنه عقد اتفاقاً مع الشيطان بهدف ان يعلمه العزف ، فأداءه كان خارقاُ لدرجة ان هناك من زعموا انهم رأوا الشيطان بالفعل وهو يساعده أثناء العزف !

ولهذا السبب كان منبوذاً من قبل الكنيسة فحرمته الصلوات الاخيرة التي تقام على المريض قبل الموت بفترة وجيزة، وبعد موته رفضت دفنه في مقابر الكاثوليك في جنوة، حتى تم دفن رفاته في مقبرة في بارما عام 1876.

This album goes a bit deeper, and sometimes a bit darker. Each song is inspired by a particular memorable moment or era in my life.

Some are small, like one cool summer night riding bikes home with my best friend and fireworks going off in the distance. Some are big, like the birth of my children. I really believe memorable moments that we relive over and again are so incredibly valuable, and important reminders to not miss the potential memories in the making now - these are gifts we can never fully get back, so LIVING these moments is key.

My best friend and I grew up doing everything together - sports, video games, music, we worked together for years, and we biked all over the city for hours on end. One of our favorite spots was a nearby woods area. Even though we were right in the middle of the Twin Cities, this spot felt like it was so far from civilization - there were trees, swamps, wildlife, and dirt paths.

Technology is great, and I love being busy and living in a big city, but there’s just nothing like the calm, quiet escape of nature. I also think ambient music and nature go hand in hand - they are family.

I titled this song “Imagination” after a blog post I wrote nearly a decade ago, with the same title.  Thinking of those times biking in the woods, exploring, free of worry and responsibility, I wrote out my thoughts on how we grow up with these cultural expectations to simply survive, go through the motions, and to just pay the bills. So often we’re pressured to leave behind that imagination we have as children, to shed the wonder.

Music is my humble attempt to go against the grain as much as I can, and to feed that imagination well into adulthood.

Life is too short to shed the wonder.
