During the 2011 City of London Festival, Tenebrae joined a chamber ensemble from the LSO at St Paul’s Cathedral for a performance of Fauré’s Requiem. The Requiem was preceded by a selection of Bach’s Chorales interspersed with his Partitia in D minor, performed by Gordan Nikolitch, leader of the London Symphony Orchestra.

Fauré’s Requiem favours serenity, joy and liberation over the dread and terror employed by most composers in settings of the Mass of the Dead. By adopting a more comforting approach, he crafted music of astonishing beauty, in particular the Pie Jesu. Bach’s Partita for Violin No 2, with chorales interspersed, culminates in a reconstruction of the Ciaconna, highlighting the hidden chorale themes within this fascinating work.

10. Requiem: Introït et Kyrie

At that time I met a stranger, her story was sad and her voice gentle.. She saw and heard what no one should.. She suffered a lot. I recorded lullaby for her to make our world quieter, less scary, cold nights warmer. Many times my music was written by empathy, maybe this one is an illusion of fear that we pass through. It seems to weep over the idea of utopia, happiness. Everything needs a little bit of silence .. Even music..

Eugen Doga writes music in all kinds of genres and styles, which makes him one of the most prolific and versatile composers. He has his own easily recognizable style. A creator of three ballets "Lucheaferul” (Luceafărul), “Venancia”, “Queen Margot”, the opera “Dialogues of Love”, more than 100 instrumental and choral works – symphonies, 6 quartets, “Requiem”, church music, and other, plus music for 13 plays, radio shows, more than 200 movies, more than 260 songs and romances, more than 70 waltzes; he is also the author of works for children, the music for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games in 1980 in Moscow. The waltz written for the movie “A Hunting Accident “, became widely known and was performed at the opening of two Olympic Games – in 1980 and 2014.
He had a non-stop active concert and social life, created in Chisinau the Music salon “Eugen Doga”, which goal was to unite people through art and communication.
He received the following awards: People's Artist of the USSR, a laureate of the State Prize of the USSR, Commendatore “Stars of Romania”, the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland”, the Order “Danaker”, among others. Academician of several academies. About his 8 books were written and 6 movies made, among television programs. 
Two waltzes by Eugen Doga are included in the top 200 best classical works of all time. 
In honor of Eugen Doga a minor planet was named – №10504 Doga.
