Little track I made about a month ago - been away from home so just finished mixing it (as good as I'll get it myself... I really need to learn more about dat)

Made with samples from Bend Me, Shape Me by The Models.
Main synths used were the DeepMind12 for the chords and the TD-3 for the acid bassline. Did use the MS20 for some weird resonant sweep things later on in the track...

Rizla Ops joins the NHS orbit with his debut EP release 'Aphid' - An offering of functional, mechanical crawlers that hit disparate BPMs and creep into the territories of many genres of club music that predominantly hail from the shores of the UK. The brief collection highlights a generous dose of maximalism and pairs this with a microcosm of jittering, insectoid syncopation.

Rizla Ops emphasises the magnification of the world that lives in between the cracks of our existence through this collection; he examines the harshness as an inevitable aspect of nature with an scathing and uncompromising lens. After 5 years of 'Fortnightly Freebies' columns collating our favourite free downloads, we decided to do things a bit differently for the 100th chapter. Introducing 'Big Material', a 19-track 'name your price' compilation that will donate 100% of profits made to Stonewall Housing, a London-based charity supporting some of the most marginalised and vulnerable in our society.

At a time when unfair austerity is increasing inequality and leaving so many behind, we hope to support a community that has given so much to the 'scene' and music we love. Digi-dub abstractions and drifting ambient to kaleidoscopic breaks and newly-coined genre, 'subtle donk', it's a pretty accurate microcosm of the If-Only curation as a whole.
