2020|01 - The Composer's New Music Playlist

This is a follow-up posting of a wonderful collaboration Dan-T had invited Debra and I to contribute to.  Dan had posted it well over a year ago as a backing track to a dramatic French Fantasy production.  With his kind permission after the delay of a year, I wanted to post this as a celebration of a different kind of drama--life awakening from a long winter sleep. Dan's synths are sweeping and epic, Debbie's playing is measured and elegant like the words in a fine poem.  The Requinto guitar has a sweet voice sounding a bit like a Celtic harp to round out the production. Co produced with my wife, Olivia Grant, as she recommended for me to change the original lead guitar part so it is more melodic and not loads of notes played in your face. I think it worked for the better.

We were going to cover it properly, but we had a miscommunication as to being an original. Therefore, we are putting this cover tune out as a reprise of the original.
It's a very unique continuation of a classic tune.

It's just not funny anymore, the conspiracy theories..the hate filled blogs and social media posts..the absurd rhetoric that passes for political discussion these days
It is hard enough for people to get along as it is (for reasons that are not clear to me) but this background noise is making it impossible to survive.

Jesus often says Do not be deceived, and that is what this song is about.
If you don't know Gods word you will be easily deceived and you will end up in Hell.

Eric Schultheiss is a graduate of The University of California Irvine School of Music, where he studied as a classically trained percussionist. As an undergraduate member of the Gassman Electronic Music Studio steering committee, Schultheiss collaborated with Drama and Dance departments to further the School of Fine Art's mastery of software for sound synthesis, sequencing, digital audio, and sound processing. 

Eric’s passion for ethic percussion permeates his electro-acoustic compositions for film and dance. As the Corona Conservatory of Music’s Head of Electronic Music, Eric mentors students in music theory, digital signal processing, psychoacoustics, and music publishing via social media.

Eric writes music that has lots of drums and other percussion instruments in it. 

He's been doing it since college where he was one of the first people to connect a Mac Plus to some really low quality samplers (you know, they were sounded really good at the time...)

The songs/compositions where pretty good, and a bunch of Choreographers and a few Drama Directors worked with him and a few other students to create some really cool multimedia pieces for dance and drama.

Eric's upgraded his gear since then and now uses Reaper on his Desktop computer and Audio Evolution on his Android phone when he is creating/recording.

He continues to work with students (young and old )that want to learn old and new school approaches to create music. They are creating some amazing pieces and he encourages you all to check their unique and developing artistic voices over the Corona Conservatory of Music (www.ccofmusic.org) and at the Ioniate Media Group's Website (www.ioniate.com)

Jazz/Fusion keyboard player, composer and producer.  Marketing, advertising, publishing and sales career.  Originally from Chicago, where I developed a strong appreciation for the blues and classical, and moved to New York, where jazz and the fine arts are so deep.  Key musical influences include Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Zawinul and Weather Report, Chick Corea and Return to Forever, John McLaughlin and the Mahivishnu Orchestra, Stanley Clarke, Scott Henderson and Tribal Tech, Jeff Beck and Jan Hammer, Mike Stern, John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Emily Remler, McCoy Tyner, Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Jimmy Smith, Joey DeFrancesco, Larry Young, Buddy Guy, Santana and Earth Wind & Fire.
