You'll recognize Ian's signature funky guitar playing, wicked sense of humor, outstanding wild graphics and great taste. In addition to being a fine guitar player with a tremendous sense of humor, Ian Tait cooks.  Both on his Strat and in the kitchen.  He's a very fine professional chef from Scotland whose specialty is pastries.   Not blowing anything up your Kilt when I say fine. Blues For Charlie is a dedication to the lives that were lost recently in Paris and now Copenhagen.  Our hope is that the emotion of the playing here touches people to remind them of the sadness of these horrible acts.

Has been way too long since Ian and I got together so we whipped up a burning tune this weekend that got the blood flowing.  Ian busts out his signature funky wah wah like no one else can and rest is history.  Find a great groove and go with it.  Think you will dig this one.  Today is Herbie Hancock's 75th birthday, so I decided to go with some real funky synth playing here to recognize this genius and influence and also try and keep up with Ian.  Was tough, but pleased with the results.    Have to throw a nod to Billy Cobham's Spectrum with Jan Hammer and the late Tommy Bollin, as shades here of that great album too.

My eldest son grew up playing keyboards, to cut a long story short, I used to borrow his keyboards at times and using the auto rhythms/bass used to knock out a tune with one finger. Well, I did play guitar so I suppose I did use more fingers but always one after the other. I quite enjoyed the sessions and recorded the outcomes on reel to reel tape  or later on cassettes. I have posted a playlist/album of these disasters on Soundcloud, just for complete journaling of my musical journeys...

The recent covers I have been doing of my early songs and recordings set me thinking... I decided to see what Suno could do with these instrumentals and this is the first - and possibly the last experiment. But I was pleasantly surprised again.

The tune includes a combination of grooves, with funk, funk rock, a little latin, some disco and a little touch of what I will call Pink Floyd.  All packaged together neatly. Dancing Fool - with Ian Tait / guitar

The funkiest guitar player on SoundCloud is BACK, with this grooving original, Can't Get Enough Of You.  Scotland's finest has teamed up with Germany's super funky slap bass marvel Mirko "Stringburner" Borach, creating what I can only say reminds me of one of the all time greatest tunes, Mountain's Mississippi Queen.  But Mountain never had a rhythm section playing with this much funk!  Ian's letting me do my thing on keyboards, and you can hear me soloing in the right channel, trying to hold my own over this nasty rocking blues.
