Joe is one of the most soulful guitar players I have ever ever heard - anywhere - and he brings that inner passion and sensitivity to every recording.  His tone, his phrasing and his interpretation are envious.  In fact, for the second year in a row, Joe has earned a finals spot playing in the World Championship of Blues Guitar in Memphis, Tennessee.  Best of luck there Joe.  Wish I could be with you there.

What fun pulling this together with three serious musicians.  You probably know Joe Bongiovanni and Justin Valente's awesome blues oriented guitars, and they stretch out here on this funk / soul / fusion groove.  Burning it up they are.  And joining us on Alto Sax is recording artist Matt Criscuolo.  Look for him at mattcriscuolo.com.  These guys just play their ass off here.  Started with an internet fusion loop, I added many keyboard lines to funk it up to the max, and we added these pros.  Joe takes the opening solos for the first four minutes, Justin follows, and we finish with all the guys trading off.  So much energy.  Positive energy here.  Put this on and relax. Bringing a soulful sound to SoundCloud with this one.  Lifetime recording artist, soul vocalist, saxophone and harmonica player Johnny Pugh sits in with blues guitarist extraordinaire Justin Valente and me on an emotional Ray Charles type slow jam.  What a wonderful surprise to hear Johnny's beautiful harp lines, which fit perfectly with Justin's raw electric blues energy. This was something special! This track is a collaboration between Daniel van den Berg aka Danarchx on guitars and Jamie Rhind on Organ, strings synth and bass Synth. We aimed for a kind of Deep Durple meets Al Di Meola meets Yngwie kind of thing. It was cool and courageous of Jamie trying on a loud rock/metal piece but the result is... Well you judge!

Drag Racers on the Spanish Highway - Part 1 - Featuring Jamie Rhind

Gotta love the open invitation from Scotland's finest SC guitarist, fuzzmaster and executive chef Ian Tait https://soundcloud.com/ian-tait to join him on this heavy funk rocker.  Ian's signature funky sound and outstanding Wah playing were just what the doctor ordered for me, so I jumped in with some heavy synth guitar patch to try and match Ian's electricity on my keyboard.  On this track I take the first and third solos.  Damn this was fun Ian!!!  You are back with a vengeance.

Blues For Roy with jamie rhind

It's been too long since Ohio bluesman Joe Bongiovanni and I recorded a tune together, so I wrote this one with Joe's soulful and lyrical playing in mind.  Joe has several times been a finalist at the World Championship of Blues Guitar, and it sure shows in his beautiful playing. Feelin' Blue - with Joe Bongiovanni / guitar

We are so excited to present this seminal soul blues classic Who Knows, first performed by Jimi Hendrix' '70 power soul trio, Band of Gypsies.   Stick with it through the end for a thrilling ride.   Leading our team is Detroit's rocker Tony "Bluestone" Pappas https://soundcloud.com/tonybluestone , who just nails the spirit of Buddy Miles, Hendrix' drummer and vocalist.  So great to have Tony's soulful and rhythmical approach on this extended recording.  Our two exceptional guitar players are both from The Netherlands - Marco Oversteegen and Rients Draaisma.  Marco https://soundcloud.com/marco-oversteegen just had to be a part of this recording, as for me he is the closest player I know in approach and sound to what Hendrix laid down over 40 years ago.  If it sounds like Jimi here, it is Marco's beautiful playing.  Rients http://www.rientsdraaisma.com https://soundcloud.com/rients-draaisma comes at it from quite a different angle indeed, using a very progressive fusion inspired approach to his  brilliant and unique soloing, and while also taking it back with superb pitch bending and pentatonics.  As a huge Hendrix fan, and one who has been deeply influenced by his playing, I've decided to also solo, using a heavy keyboard synth patch to try and complement these two cats.  A big thanks to Rients for his programming of the drums for us here. Who Knows - with TonyBluestone Pappas / Marco Oversteegen / Rients Draaisma / Jamie Rhind



"Reptiles Return"- vinyl release of 8 tracks LP (Clostridium Records - CR 022) and 10 tracks on limited edition CD-R with "Reptiles" BOX Set (Rushus records - RR 03). This time the Grandmaster of this Moscow psychedelic fuzz orchestra Ilya Lipkin and associates made an attempt to rethink the legacy of the primal days of the band - the very first EP "Return to the Reptiles" with one track remixed, two - re-recorded a new and two more - remastered. The new album also includes new songs (4 in vinyl version and 6 in digital) covering more broad sonic space - acoustic pieces and psychedelic soundscapes which have been composed and recorded over the period of the last three years. "Reptiles Return" is a good appetizer for those fans tired of waiting for the brand new double LP due to release in the nearest future.
