After my set tonight — when I played that passage I knew Karl would have loved — I couldn’t let the sound fade.
I went back to his old things again.
The room still smells faintly of dust and electricity.
I opened his computers, wandered through folders named like memories — “sketches,” “echo,” “unfinished.”

And then I found it.
An old recording, unnamed, almost forgotten.
I pressed play — and for a moment, the air shifted.

It was Karl.
