After my son cleaned up his room I inherited his "children percussion" collection consisting of various sticks, shakers etc.
Happy about the new tools in my arsenal I used them to record the foundation of this little uplifting track. I tried to enhance to positive mood by some custom recorded vocal lines mixed into the virtual choir.

The English saying "We're all going to Hell in a hand-cart" just about describes my mood when I wrote "Descent". It was one of those weeks in northern hemisphere Spring 2024 when there was absolutely no good news coming in from anywhere on the planet.

I trust that things will get better!

Descent

This is an early concept demo of my song "In Tears." This is how my songs usually start—simple instrumental tracks that capture the initial mood and emotion I want to convey. At this stage, the music is raw and unpolished, serving as a foundation for further development.

We're all On the Lowdown these days, trying to understand the significance of the issues around us.   And I couldn't think of a better way to spend some time than to bring together some of my very favorite musicians I have met from around the world, with our original On the Lowdown. Anyone wanna dance?  Joined here with Stringburner and Pinner on our funky original, Stay Low.  The right message for the time, with the worldwide social distancing and isolation priorities.  But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a solid groove.  This one reminds me of John Scofield's classic Uberjam.   As always, Mirko's bass is driving the bus, and Pinner just can't help himself, pushing it inside and outside and creating that infectious syncopated groove.  It's my 61st and 70th tunes with these special friends!
