It is hard to see where Uruguay’s Michelle ends and her machines begin, they are an extension of her. Her ability to convey such emotion and meaning with the use of hardware is so impressive but hardly surprising given that Nicolas Lutz prizes her abilities. With two solo EP’s on My Own Jupiter and a track on Lutzifer she is clearly on to a good thing. The fact that her first major release was the 2 x 12” EP on My Own Jupiter also points to a star in the making. @roza-terenzi has traversed continents, yet her sound as a producer is never quite of this world. Hailing from Australia and now based in Berlin, extensive touring and appearances at a host of electronic music’s most esteemed festivals and venues have only served to strengthen her skills as a producer, with releases on the likes of @dkmntl, @planeteuphorique, @kalaharioystercult, @buttersessions and her own @stepballchain somehow evoking both nostalgia and visions of the future through cosmic atmospherics and warm, alien grooves.

Likewise, her Patterns of Perception 95 is luminous, lush and vibrantly nostalgic: like a hazy, sun-bleached postcard from decades past, viewed very much in the here and now. Covering a lot of ground in terms of both tempo and energy - this mix floats effortlessly from downtempo to liquid DNB, from breaks to house and back again, showcasing her effervescent skill and versatility behind the decks. 
Featuring an array of forthcoming and unreleased material from friends, collaborators and Terenzi herself, the warmth in this uplifting selection stirs hope for the times ahead.

Welcoming the lovely Refuge Worldwide co-founder and dub-master @richard-akingbehin to the Animix series this week, with a beautiful journey of minimal house infused with his signature dub styles.

Clear in his DJ'ing, but also his work with @refugeworldwide, and his immaculately curated label, @kynant-records, Richard is an all-round classy selector, and a champion of community. Through his various outputs, his deep & considered knowledge and taste shines. 

Richard always impresses me with the diversity of moods he presents via his DJ'ing, hybrid collaborations with legend Tikiman, b2bs with other legends like livwutang, and his label - a diversity that's always strung together with his incredibly distinctive psychedelic, soothing dub formula.

Max is becoming a key figure on the London underground circuit, co-running the party Small World which moves between various spaces around the city. This one’s a carefully put together selection - a low-slung trip, exploring techno (?) and beyond. Thoughtful, measured, and built with intent.
