A bit of a departure for us but a pretty one. Gina says about it - This song was inspired simply by being outdoors in my backyard at the closing of a summer day. At such times it is easier to find a peacefulness while forgetting the troubles of time and various entanglements, opposing vectors and misunderstandings which are often on the plates of those who live.

Graeme says.....This started off as a vaguely pleasant but unremarkable little instrumental demo which I'd filed away wondering what, if anything could be done to bring it up to scratch....... Luckily, along came Gina who breathed some new life into it and it ended up becoming this chilled out little pop song....
Gina says....This song is a ramble about life going off into other directions than you had originally planned and then finding that you need to re-start with that original plan because the side-track ended up a dead end.....

My next song in the queue will be called "Rome". Some of you may have heard a demo version of this already. I first became aware of COVID-19 when it hit Italy. The slow looming cloud of its potential impact crept into my skull at that point and, despite my best efforts, it sneaked into a song. Since we are largely past the worst of this storm, I feel better about letting my song go.

Well; this is about COVID-19. Hopefully by the time you are hearing this the Pandemic will be largely over (cross fingers) and the ordeal just bitter memory deep in our mind vaults.   I could not release this during that crazy time period precisely because I felt too close to it.  However, it was the song that arrived at that time and I believe I am ready to share it with you now.   

I felt the virus as a boogey man underneath my bed (like when you were a kid).  Parents said he's not real yet the hairs on the back of my neck raised up anyway.  The 6 ft distance became a symbol for separation and mandated "sheltering in place"  Zombiehood distancing from human warmth.  I am an introvert by nature so this separation was probably not good for me on the whole.  My immediate family helped to save me on a daily basis just by being themselves.   Thank You.

There is a fair bit of fear and pleading laced throughout the song.  It is not cheery (sorry about that) but it is a cool song none-the-less and captures the essence of my mood during this time.    Give it a listen and let me know what you think.

Danse Etoile Ballet (www.danseetoile.org) premiers two contemporary ballets June 3-4.  “In A Dialogue with Gravity” explores the parallel between modern architecture, movement and the need to push and defy gravity.  “Matisse’s Gardens” brings to life the bold color and forms that Henri Matisse first explored in his collages and drawings.
Matisse first visited Morocco in the winter of 1912.  Matisse found Morocco so different and exotic that he ended up making numerous sketches, drawings, and paintings of it, or more precisely, of what he saw in it.  Matisse was quite struck by the people’s physiognomy and colorful garments, the architecture, the daily outdoor scenes, and routines… and it shows in most of his works from this period (1912-1913).  This music for the ballet, using ethnic instruments and percussion, reflects on this time of Matisse's life in Morocco.

This is a song i wrote for the climate and its kind of a call and spiritual reminder for the global community to try and bring something together for a while again..
Just remember we all have it with-in our-selfs to try and help and heal others and be aware of our place on this planet that we all have to share and live on.
Unfortunately because of corporate and money making interests and influences its easy to forget what actually matters anymore ,most of us are too busy making money to survive to see what really matters anymore..
The environment is slowly being killed off everyday by what is taken for granted as everyday modern life such as transportation[pollution]
the rainforests cut down for profit and the ice caps melting away that help keep this planet stable ...its easy to think that hey i am safe today and i got my life the way it is ..but tomorrow that could all change ...
Im just a musician who makes sounds that lives in its own universe but i still feel ive got a part to play to at least sing whats on my mind

My version is a little more BOMBASTIC than the original , i hope you enjoy it.
