Ha ha! If I had management, they would probably advise me against uploading this but some of you asked for it so here it is - warts and all! This crusty old recording from my archives is of an improvised acid-techno/breaks jam, recorded live back in 1998, straight from the back of my budget mixing console, playing the lead-up set to the mighty Luke Slater! 

The entire set was improvised on the fly using Cubase 2.8 running on a Pentium 133mHz (MIDI only, pre VST version of Cubase - i.e. no audio) to drive a the first version of Rebirth (lots of fake 303 tweaking), Roland Juno 106 (with liberal dashings of guitar stomp box distortion), Roland D5, Ensoniq ASR10 (handed a bulk of the drum sounds, sampled analogues and sampled vocals/speech) and Korg DW8000. I'd basically import Cubase Part files on the fly for drums patterns and spit them out to the Ensoniq ASR10, and then stick Cubase in Cycle Record mode and make up elements on the fly on the synths and record them in ... Very risky, but heck, that was half the fun! Couldn't even vaguely repeat this set ;)

Listen without prejudice - this was long before I started recording and releasing studio tracks and my engineering skills were in their infancy. However, the above said, you cannot deny the intensity and ideas in this set (it went off). LOL … Enjoy annoying your neighbours!
