A collection of tracks I made for the "One Synth Challenge" is a contest on KVRaudio.com. Each month a free software synthesizer is chosen. Participants then use only that instrument to make all sounds for a complete track.

Moebius

Inspired by the classic scifi novel of the same name.
Conceptual tech-house narrative: space launch, first contact, communications break down where in battle ensues.

All made using U-He's beta version of the Hive synthesizer (48 instances if you care about those things). All patches created by me. Programmed and mixed in Live 9 using native effects and TDR Kotelnikov, Nova67P and Limiter6. 

Mote in Gods Eye (OSC71 Hive)

All sound derived from the Tortured Piano Free Sounds library by Tim Prebble. Contest found here: http://www.musicofsound.co.nz/blog/tortured-piano-remix-competition

I wanted to do something clockworky, crunchy and clunky. It turned into sort of an industrial dubstep monster.

How It All Falls To Pieces (OSC74 Dexed)

All sounds produced with the Mac version of 20 or so instances of 
Audjoo Helix synth. 

V2, added a bit more melodic structure and dynamics. Fine-tuned the mix a bit.

Only effects used were built-in Ableton live plugins as follows: 
EQ8, Saturation, Dynamic Tube, Reverb, Ping-Pong Delay, Compressor, Utility. 

In addition, TAL Tube and Yohng's W1 limiter were used on the master bus as seen in the image.

BPM: 108
About 30 Helixes were used.

The Locusts Approach v2.0 (OSC37 Helix Beta)

Entry for the March KVR One Synth Challenge contest. All sounds made with many tracks of Schwa's Olga synthesizer using Ableton Live. Effects used: Ableton EQ, Tube, Saturation; Voxengo Tube Amp, Overtone GEQ; Molot, W1

Motes and Beams (OSC38 Olga)

All sounds in this track were created using over 30 instances of Arturia Mini V virtual synthesizer. Programmed and mixed in Ableton Live 8. 

Additional processing with Ableton Live's built in EQ, Saturation, Compressor, Reverb, Ping Pong Delay, Fxpansion's Free Compressor, Limiter 6, and Voxengo's free parametric EQ.

Sound design by me.

Feeling Free (OSC 42 Minimoog-V)

First entry for OSC contest for Dune. Something quite a bit different. Wanted to see how realistic I could get Dune to sound.

About 30 tracks using Dune BE, Ableton Live effects: Compressors, Reverb, Amp, Cabinet, EQ, Ping Pong Delay; Limiter 6, FXpansion DCAM compressor.

Arrakis Revisited (OSC 43 Dune BE)

KVR One Synth Challenge using Tal Uno LX1.1 virtual synth to create all the sounds you hear.  About 22 instances of the synth. Made in Live 9 using built in plug-ins, EQ, Compressor, Reverb, Delay, Amp, and Saturation.

Rain or Tears (OSC50 Tal U-No)

KVRaudio.com's One Synth Challenge. All sounds created and programmed with Matt Tytel's amazing Vital synthesizer. That's right no singer was harmed in the production of this track. Vocals were programmed too.

IN "Truly Alive" I wanted to channel the Cyberpunk ethos. The scene, a rainy dystopian city scape. An emotional AI pining for a love that can never return.
