Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Peter Taylor began playing music in his father’s church, where he learned to sing in the gospel choir, play the tambourine and drums. Taylor found his voice while studying Recording Arts at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. Strapped with an acoustic guitar and a voice reminiscent of Marvin Gaye, he won acclaim as an up-and-coming singer-songwriter, thrilling audiences with his captivating stage presence. By age 19, he was locally heralded in the press as an electrifying vocalist and live performer.

Signing with Rock Ya Girl, the label Baldwin co-founded with his manager, the company released his unplugged album, I Was Here in 2008. Following this debut, he has continued to headline concerts across the state of Florida, in addition to showcasing in New York City and Los Angeles. The St. Petersburg Times proclaimed that “Peter Baldwin captures crowds with just a guitar and voice, and not in a cringe-inducing, look-at-me-I’m-the-next-John Mayer way.” Baldwin has opened for such venerable acts as Earth, Wind and Fire, Joss Stone, Chrisette Michele, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Jon B and Theophilus London. Releasing the Peter Baldwin in Vodville EP (2011), Baldwin not only introduced himself as a promising recording artist, but also as a visionary, and an equally adept producer who aims to push the boundaries of popular soul music. Written, produced and arranged by Baldwin, Peter Baldwin in Vodville is a unique cook-up of soul induced-indie rock, folk and jazz with pop overtones.  A sound he calls “alternative soul.”

Recently, Jason took the initiative to establish "GrindHaus Studios," the first-ever creative coworking recording studio in Charlotte, NC. His talent has led him to share the stage with esteemed artists such as Anthony Hamilton, Dwele, Eric Robinson, Sunshine Anderson, 9th Wonder, and many more. It's clear that he is well on his way to greatness.

Since 2023 Jason, who is also a touring live sound engineer, worked with Erykah Badu for her world tour.
