I'm posting this unreleased acoustic demo I recorded back in 2010 in honor of my dear friend Felix McTeigue who I just found out passed away (Summer 2020). He wrote this song before I met him and we joked about it and so many other things during our decade of working together in NYC recording studios, where he was a producer and songwriter and I was his hired gun "Ol Spot On" (when I was doing well) or aka "Jeff Ditz" (when I wasn't doing well haha). I learned so much from Felix, as a studio musician but also as a friend. He was like an older brother to me and we were there for each other, riding high in the good times and thru the dark times. This song blew up once country artist Dallas Smith picked it up, setting the stage for Felix's move to Nashville, where he co-wrote songs for Lori McKenna, Florida Georgia Line and many others, in which he was nominated a Grammy for. But he always stayed humble, kind and gave me a ring to talk stupid, to make each other laugh, or if he wanted a web site designed, wiki page built or some guitar tracks to a new artists he was working with. I love that guy and his enormous talent but most of all, his kindness and friendship. This is all so surreal and a shock. Life is too short and precious-be kind to each other.
