Luke Slater’s most well known pseudonym Planetary Assault Systems is back in the fullest swing with 'No Exit', a standalone EP following his famed 'Deep Heet' installment series. 'No Exit' unmistakably bears all the hallmarks of Planetary Assault System, from mind-tripping and floor-stirring hypnotic energy to the theme of pushing the outer limits of unknown territories.
The EP kicks off with the title track, at its first breath of rolling beat already infusing an ample dose of psychedelic madness, which only to be intensified with the layers of digital chime tones that are constantly multiplying and shape-shifting. “Undertow” on the B side continues with the signature warping and reverberating bells and bleeps but this time with enticing hi-hats and distorted bass, gradually all melting into one big sinister groove. The last track of the EP “Nanendi” might fool you in the beginning with its minimalistic beat, but as soon as the demure yet ominous veil of melody - beautifully moody and almost spooky at times - starts humming and howling, it’s well on its way to make a deep, haunting emotional connection while keeps the tension boiling. Without a doubt 'No Exit' EP is the one that shows the most distinctive core DNA of Planetary Assault Systems and much like his seminal album The Messenger, it’s a deadly unique, dazzling, and powerfully effective work that will stand the test of time.

​About a year ago we had Clouded Vision boss Matt Walsh go In Session for us. What he delivered was an hour of wriggly and writhing techno cuts, with Locked Groove, Daniel Avery and Ripperton all included. 

The mix itself was in a similar vein to the Bugged Out! associate's own tracks and remixes, whether it's 2010's 'Honey Comb' on Wax:On Music or his rejig of Daniel Avery's 'Free Floating'.

Shelter is our latest release from Clint Stewart and it's a benchmark in the catalog as it's the first time any of our releases have included a remix. And, for that remix, we showed no restraint, commissioning our very own, man of the hour, Stephan Hinz.

As you dive into the first cut off the EP, 'Shelter', you instantly begin to take an excursion into the ethereal. Shimmers of distant audible light flicker in the backdrop as a hypnotic pulse tightens its grip, strapping you in for a trip deep into celestial territory. Long single blasts of deep bass and racing percussion thrust you further into the void until you're far from your point of origin. 'Shelter' is a journey into the vast, ever expanding reaches of impassioned sonics ideal for deeper dance floor antics.

On the flip is 'L714' and much like 'Shelter' it's a cosmic ride, but differs in the fact that it is exceedingly relentless. Eery string like tones and massive low end bursts set the stage for a narcotic, swirling lead that parallels a comet hurtling through the ether. Bits of it falling apart and leaving a visible tail of particles in it's wake creating the ideal flip to 'Shelter'. Where both originals may have left something to be desired for those who want it heavy, Stephan Hinz fills that void. While staying undeniably true to the original 'L714', he adds only what he felt was missing. Taking the original to new heights with colossal drums and tension displayed with the arrangement of a cinematic masterpiece derived from another world. Overall, the 'Shelter Ep' is a complete package, hitting all emotions and leaving nothing to be desired no matter the time or situation.

Tackling the highlights of Nick Höppner's recent full-length Folk is rock solid BR fav, The Black Madonna, who has (surprise, surprise!) turned it into a stormer. Accompanied, as usual, by an eminently "Relate"-able message of humble gratitude, the real calling cards here are the rising, rousing synths that wouldn't sound out of place on a vintage Severed Heads 12". We're informed that it's a Panorama Bar melter, which makes sense: what begins an inviting outstretched palm winds up a slamming clenched fist.

The Folk remix 12" is out very soon, via Ostgut Ton. Keep eyes peeled.

The classy @Caduceus-Records puts together a new 4 track vinyl with some style. Enlisting @OliverDeutschmann for original material, along with @MarkusSuckut and @JeroenSearch on remix duty.

It was hard to pick a favourite from such a stunning collection, but Jeroen’s rework captured a real honesty and deceptively laid-back groove that has flashes of tension. The organic progression and subtle sample additions keep it moving with never a dull moment. A deep and hypnotic twist on the original, it emphasises certain elements and lights it up magnificently.

After years of mainly working on coproductions, Andre Crom started to dive deep into solo studio work in november 2015, and since then has been pretty much obsessed with nothing else.

These tracks belong to the first results of these endeavours; more will soon follow.

The EP opens with "Jaunde", a detroit-influenced spacy cut, somewhere between techno and house. Building on the foundation of a solid Kick&Sub groove we are welcomed by a deep and hypnotic arp theme, wrapped into warm bass pads and a classic string. A perfect track for the later hours of a set.

"Ritus" is aimed more towards building tension, an energetic syncopated stab lead, demanding claps and a tight groove build towards an epic breakdown, before a warm pads gives resolve.

"Momentum" is clearly the peaktime cut of the package, built around driving percussions and an intense arp lead.

Charlotte De Witte, one of Belgium's most promising newcomers and known from several EP's on Turbo, makes her OFF debut with a remix of Jaunde, taking things into a more linear and darker direction.

Saraceni makes his return to Truesoul with a pumping, 3 track EP. ‘Carry You Away’ displays Saraceni’s diversity as a producer with three heavy hitting yet uplifting tracks, all packed with tantalizing crescendos and deep drops. The vocal-laden EP is high energy, packed with intriguing percussion and dynamic synths and cut a deep, summer-ready groove.

Reload Black's unstoppable juggernaut rolls on with another weaponized release, this time from London-based Jason Fernandes, presenting his latest three-track offering, titled 'A Few Days Of Madness'. The title-track serves as the opener, with a rumbling bassline and obvious spoken word passages running throughout the affair, as haunting riffs and tasty stabs take center stage. 'Can't Sleep' is toned up just a bit and the focus shifts to the busy rhythm section and streamlined electronics, while accompanied by reverberating metallic chords. The EP closes with the even more esoteric 'Lying By Omission', where looped-out bleeps and dark, melodic overtones all come together to form a spooky vibe with the distressed synths barely being contained in the production confines. Opening things up is the title track 'Density' and it certainly delivers the trademark TRY sound with crisp, racing hi-hats and low rumbling bass. As signals of bold sirens resonate through fields of sonic indulgence, the duo commandeer a journey into cosmic spaces. Followed by 'Sunwaves' which is the duo's ballad to the Romanian festival they first played last summer.  Laced with grooving low end and sun drenched atmospherics, 'Sunwaves' is the aural illustration of exactly what you would expect from one of the world's finest festivals where the water meets the dance floor on an exotic Romanian beach. On the flip side, the duo take a step back and drop the heady down-tempo number 'Whisper' where percussive grooves fill the blank silent palette as washes of mischievous pads create the feeling of being lost deep in the jungle while a whispering voice guides the listener towards some vacant hope of finding a native estate. To wrap things up, we turn to the one and only Nick Curly for his twist on ‘Whisper’, and in true Curly fashion he delivers a bomb.
