Yaz Solaire Yanos was born in California to a family of religious Polish immigrants, grew up on Cle Elum Lake 80 miles east of Seattle in the Cascades, left organized religion as a family when Solaire was 17, and then went to Burning Man as a family in 2017.

Yaz has been singing his entire life since he was a child in church, started playing guitar at 13, and then started songwriting at 15, inspired by Nirvana to channel his depression into a passion for meaningful music. This passion led Solaire on a journey to listen and learn from the music and musicians of every generation and to believe in the spiritual healing power of community, love, and music instead of God. 

Woes Be Gone Sun, his one-person looping band, was created after a decade of busking by grocery stores and farmers markets along the west coast to attempt to capture the unique converge of influences that create his psychedelic and spiritual music.
