A proud New Orleans native, DJ Kruz (Shan) moved to Pittsburgh in hopes to recapture that fast city life that he so long missed of New Orleans. In between school and developing a new life he has found that his true happiness would come from the electronic music scene that was so vibrant at the time in Pittsburgh. From working in nightclubs, to spinning at parties, to producing and promoting events himself, things couldn't have gone better in the direction that he wanted. Ever since the Invasion, and event Kruz produced in 2008, he has been pushing on with his career in Pittsburgh, Philly, Ohio, as well as back home in New Orleans. This 10 year veteran is young with a lot of ambition with ideas of many great things to come!

    My Life has been filled with an interest in music from a very early age. My love of music has its roots in the music of the 90's which included the influences of Latin, House, Progressive, Minimal, and Techno music. The single unifying aspect of all these styles out of my obsession for the driving beats, basslines, and lyrics was my love for the strength in the soul and character that is behind the music. When I first heard a 'club beat' at the age of 13, I was hooked! My first experience playing out for a crowd was in 2003 at a new opened club in New Orleans that a friend of mine worked at. I watched, learned, and assisted my dj friend closely studying how he almosty effortlessly transitioned the 'beat' and the music from one track to the next. Since then, I have devoted my life to this beautiful are form of music manipulation drving myself to perfecting my craft and style. I have been playing at clubs solo since the age of 18 moving on to larger venues up north to being showcased at large electronic music events in the north-east. Music is my passion, my life. The one thing that will always make me happy. I live by the words of a veteran dj who once stated, " Music is magical. A dance floor is more than beats and rythms, it's a sanctuary where you can open your heart, let go of your fears, and journey into the beyond." When my audience feels and believes those words during my performance then my job is complete.
