jiyun kim (formerly iamkimkong) is a Berlin-based DJ known for her sleek, soulful, and high-energy house sets. With roots in R&B and hip-hop, her sound blends rhythmic depth with refined selection and flow. Starting out as a hip-hop/R&B resident at Prince Charles (2016–2019), she later immersed herself in the city’s underground scene, evolving into house music.

She regularly plays key Berlin venues like Tresor, Paloma Bar, Sisyphos, and HÖR, with international appearances at Gabriela, Signal, and The Lot in New York. jiyun continues to captivate crowds with her genre-fluid energy and intuitive musicality.

Though highly respected by her fellow jockeys for her mixing style and impeccable skill at that, she’s a fan first and a club kid at heart – which seems to be a major reason for her ability to immediately connect with different kinds of crowds in various settings. As a DJ, Marie is known for her dynamic and engaging sets, which seamlessly blend together different styles of house music. Her performances have taken her to some of the most prestigious festivals, including FUSION, GARBICZ or NACHTIVILLE and Clubs like Frankfurt’s ROBERT JOHNSON, Hamburg’s PUDEL or Berlin’s HEIDEGLÜHEN, to name just a few. 

Dabbling in beat making and production for quite a while now, Manchester based Record label DREAMING FOREVER signed Marie for her first 12“Vinyl EP entitled IVY BLUES, which is out now!!!

My electronic journey started with the Vancouver rave scene in the late 90’s and early 00’s and since then, I have always been captivated by the culture of human connection through music.

Here, you will find mixes of a wide gamut of electronic tastes that focus on the evocation of emotion.  I’m not one to get too caught up on styles, but you can expect a range from pretty much anything that would be considered house or techno with a little soul, funk and disco thrown in.  More recently, I've been drawn to the more classic sounds that built the rave scenes in Detroit, Chicago, New York and the UK.

You'll also find mixes from Our House Radio Show, a project that my compadre, Louis Esmond and I host every 1st and 3rd Wednesday 6-8pm live on Bside Radio at the infamous Beaumont Studios (http://bside.radio).  This project has expanded into Vibrations, a series of dance parties at various venues in Vancouver.  Our crew is steadily growing, so come on out and boogie with us!
