Schillernder und organischer SoulPop, berührend persönliche, deutsche Texte mit Impact. Tabea Booz ist Sängerin und Songwriterin, die sich ihre Nische im deutschsprachigen SoulPop geschaffen hat. Die Musik zieht sich durch das Leben der 31-jährigen in Stuttgart lebenden Künstlerin wie ein bunter Faden.

Schon mit drei Jahren hatte Tabea eine Geige in der Hand, es folgten Klavier- und Gesangsunterricht. Auf die Frage, wofür sie ihr musikalisches Talent nutzen wolle und wie sie ihrer Gedankenwelt Ausdruck verleihen könnte, fand sie dann in ihrem Schul-, Jazz- und Popularmusik-Studium für sich eine Antwort: Sie fing an ihre eigenen Songs zu schreiben. Diese sollten nicht nur Ventil, sondern auch Inspiration sein und im Leben anderer Menschen nachklingen.

Mit ihrem Talent, ihrer umwerfenden Stimme und positiven Ausstrahlung konnte Tabea Booz überzeugen: Die „Initiative Musik“ förderte ihre erste EP-Produktion: Die sieben Songs auf „Zwischen Bunt und Gold“ sind traumwandlerisch-lässig, voller Soul und mit einem poppigen 80er-Vibe versehen.

Seither hat Tabea Booz aber nicht aufgehört, weiter nach dem perfekten Sound zu suchen. Nach ihrem Sound – noch purer und echter. Sie wollte ihrer kraftvollen, warmen Stimme den vollen Spielraum lassen. Dazu arbeitete sie 2020 an neuen Songs.

Heraus kamen entwaffnende und hingebungsvolle Songs mit samtiger Power – irgendwo zwischen kontrollierter Zerbrechlichkeit und zweifelzerberstender Energie. Und die frischeste, strahlendste Tabea, die ihre Zuhörer bisher kennenlernen durften.

Barry Locke is a singer songwriter from Bangor Northern Ireland currently based in Donaghadee. The past two years have been crucially cathartic for Barry as he has busied himself with the completion of his debut album ‘O N E ‘, essentially an auto biographical concept album. Never having a shortage of things to write about Barry has always looked deftly inward in order to explore themes and narratives that can translate well yet remain completely relatable. The through line of this introverted exploration is concerning the very danger of ‘self ‘as an endless knot of indecision and resolve.

  “I have always found it difficult to ‘create’ things to sing about and so I have always looked inward to myself and my own experiences. As far as I’m concerned, I live in constant state of flux, at times moving inexorably betwixt several ‘self’s’ jostling for prime position in my past, present and future. 'O N E' refers to one and all, it's in everything I've ever done, or will do. It’s all about returning themes and contexts.”

Supported by a voice that provides power and impact Barry effortlessly endears to hold on to the comforting tonal graces of his home town whilst honestly portraying the raw emotions you’d expect to hear when a young man bares his soul.
