Kicking off the series, we have Berlin-based DJ and producer Katiusha who has recently launched her own record label GRACE, a sort of kindred spirit to the wav.world platform in its ethos. Aiming to make releases more sustainable for everyone involved, GRACE prioritises paying the producer up front - tackling an age old tale where the artist is often the last person to be paid by a record label. With the first release from Katiusha, she will be donating her fee to a charity. To celebrate the launch, Katiusha has delivered a groovy shimmering mix, accompanied by a short Q&A touching on GRACE and the label's foundations as well as a powerful book recommendation.

Featured artist: Dolorblind (New Dehli)

Dolorblind is the solo electronic music project of New Delhi-based music producer and visual artist Rohan Sinha, otherwise known as Dolo. Dolorblind's music lingers in the blank spaces between avant-garde hip-hop and dark, alienating soundscapes, with long aching melodies, surging, dramatic crescendos, and hectic drums.

The final episode of Exit Planet Earth Series 2 on OpenLab is a special extended music only mix that takes in some of my favourite records produced in 2020AD. It’s not intended to be a ‘Best of 2020’ but more a selection of the records that resonated thru the year for me personally. There are many more that could have been included.

These are some of the records that inspired me, records that blew my mind, records that picked me up when I felt down, records that made me realise why I love electronic music, records that captured the times, records that gave us beauty, records that were just down right dirty, records that made me imagine distant worlds and records that made me want to stay on planet earth.
