Radio972 The Sunset Vibes - Show 07 (Amor Latina)

From February on, I will have my own weekly show at www.Radio972.com. Following several appearances in the Radio972 Club Night, we discussed the idea of doing a show earlier on the day, with accordingly a bit more relaxed and chilled music. We decided to name the show ‘the Sunset Vibes’ referring to the time of the day where you finish your afternoon on a sunny beach, get your first cocktail, chill with your friends, enjoy some food and start preparing for the evening party. And of course, that ‘golden hour’ needs matching relaxed music. Well, that problem is solved as I will serve that cocktail of tropical house on Radio972, every Saturday, 6pm CET!
Tropical because it is inspired by my residency in the Dutch Caribbean. Tropical because that is to me a good umbrella to cover my favorite music styles, being afro, soulful and vocal deep house. I will rotate between these 3 styles every week, but the common theme is high quality music, with a lot of real instruments, vocals and meaningful lyrics. Feel good music, without the heavy EDM drops.

Back in the days, when there were no computers, mobile phones, internet nor AI...life was less hectic! You listened to the radio to discover new songs. Boys & girls wearing simple t shirts and jeans. This mix aims to revive that spirit, you will hear remixed versions of pop classics from INXS, the Simple Minds, Anasticia, Rick James, Chic, The Doobie Brothers, Bob Marley, Toto, Franky Goes To Hollywood, Grace Jones, Faithless, Bryan Adams, Cyndi Lauper, KC & The Sunshine Band, Donna Summer, S.O.S. Band, Nelly, Jennifer Lopez and more.
And symbolically, Halle Berry on the cover, a beautiful woman today even looking better then when she was young. That's the message of this mixtape: hopefully also the new generation discovers the purity of these pop classics, when music was still made by artists playing instruments..
