So happy to finally get to hear disc one of this brilliant cd. When I originally swapped the disc way back in 1998 it only had disc 2... and I'm delighted to discover this one is just as good. It's an absolutely epic house double CD, released in 1996 by the fine folks at Ministry Of Sound. And one which is another great reason to celebrate and remember the man himself, thank you Frankie. "Recorded in May 2019 at the FAC 51 The Haçienda party, held at the stunning Albert Hall in Manchester. I've played a number of Haçienda events in recent years, but this was undoubtedly the best environment, with the venue full by the time I went on at 10pm. I really enjoy this type of scenario where I can build things up from scratch, starting off around 100bpm and gradually increasing the tempo so the next DJ, in this case Chez Damier, is teed up to transition into the House vibe more associated with The Haçienda. This gave me the opportunity to illustrate some of the other tracks that were played and loved at the club down the years. "

I first heard of Miguel Migs music through Naked Music back in my vinyl days and was pretty much hooked. I started collecting many of his singles and remixes from my local record shop (at the time) via labels like NRK, OM & Transport Records.

To me, Miguel Migs has mastered the art of "balance" with his unique lush warm soundscapes, deep & soulful rhythms, live instrumentation, electronic sounds & reggae sound system influences. His music perfectly translates into lounge bars, smokey underground clubs right through to main stage festivals. 

I hope you enjoy the journey through his music. I certainly enjoyed mixing this lengthy set on the 1s & 2s.
